“As my Russian friend said, it's not a place to eat but for money to burn!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 January 2010

NO NO NO, DO NOT NOT NOT GO HERE! I go out for fine dining, and this was just ridicolous, the setting is alright, but the prices are unbelivable - I had vegetarian food, because I remember seeing it a little cheaper on th online menu but I paid some 40 pounds for what tasted like food out of a can. I should have ordered a set menu, the only way to enjoy this place if you are not a millionaire. Go to Moscow Restaurant near Lenin Square Metro station, it's much better and the food is excellent and you don't feel violated afterwards.

One of the 1000 things to see and do my bum, just ask for a look around and say you'll eat there later and then save yourself the bill!

“Very good food and service...but not worth $500!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2009

We went for lunch expecting the 1000 ruble prix fixe menu they advertise on their website. Upon arrival, we were told it was no longer in effect (i.e. we were Americans). Lunch was great, the service was attentive. We were the only ones in the restaurant. The champagne flowed and it all cost $500. A once in a lifetime experience. BTW, DO NOT order the special Yusupov apple desert. It is good but not worth $50.00. It's a baked apple!

“Aristocratic setting - and prices”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2009

Visited Noble Nest - setting is interesting being part of the old Yusupov Palace and service was excellent. However have to say in terms of value for money it is shameful - we paid 200 pounds sterling for one of the menus (probably the cheapest way to eat there), two glasses of champagne and half a bottle of wine. One group left after looking at the menu muttering about the cost. The cuisine is interesting in terms of its Russian-ness but lacks the finesse of the best restaurants in the world (lettuce as garnish appeared on most dishes!). Go if you have money to burn but don't expect the finest meal you've ever tasted.
