“Good choice - great help with visa”
Reviewed 20 October 2013

We stayed at the Anabel for a week during White Nights. It was the perfect location for seeing all the sites and walking to fabulous restaurants at night. Our air conditioning was a blessing during the heat wave while we were there. The hotel is reached by going through an archway into a private courtyard. So, while you are right in the middle of the bustle of Nevesky Prospekt, just a few steps walk gives you a quiet room. We had breakfast served family style at the table by the front desk where we met lovely people from all over the world during our week. Breakfast was interesting: we had the feeling that this is a typical Russian breakfast and the staff seemed pleased to offer it. Our room was basic and without much style, but it was clean, quiet, and we had good uninterrupted sleep. We walked everywhere or used the Subway close by (except to the Mariinsky ballet & the staff arranged our taxi). The hotel was exactly as it was represented by booking.com so we were content with the price/quality ratio. We were pleased with the English speaking staff from our first contact & throughout the visit. Once we'd booked our room they made the arrangements necessary for us to obtain our Russian Visas with a minimum of anxiety.

This hotel is located in the back of the block of the building that bears its name along Nevsky Prospekt Street. The rooms are small but comfortable and clean, and the breakfast area is a cosy kitchen - quite different for a hotel. The location was good, close to the train station where the high speed train from Moscow terminates. Outside the hotel are all the shops, restaurants and cafés, as Nevsky Prospekt is the Main Street in St. Petersburg. It's a short bus ride to the Hermitage (or a 20-min walk all the way to the end of Nevsky Prospekt) and a couple of metro stations nearby. Would recommend this if you don't mind a small room and want the convenience.

We stayed in a junior suite in the Anabel Hotel for three nights, in early June. Our room was spacious (by small hotel standards), clean and comfortable. It also contained a small refrigerator as well as tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel has lift access and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a little unusual, but certainly quite adequate. Although there is free wifi, it did not work in our room, but could be accessed from either the foyer or the dining room, which was not a problem.

Our room faced the street and the noise from a nearby night club did interrupt our sleep one night, but it didn’t last too long.

The hotel’s location on Nevsky Prospect is brilliant. It is within walking distance of many of the city’s famous attractions or there is good access to public transport (buses, metro) in Nevsky Prospect. The central Moskovsky railway station is about a 10 minute walk away. There are also plenty of good restaurants and a big department store nearby.

Taking into account the quality of the accommodation and its location, I think it is very well priced and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

The hotel responds to the concept of mini hotel in the city centre. It is an excellent choice for travellers looking for a comfortable place to rest after a wonderful day exploring Saint Petersburg. Friendly and helpful staff with fluent English. It is a secure and well located hotel near the train station from Moscow, the subway and walking distance from most attractions. Good wifi connection and good breakfast. We were staying in two comfort rooms and had complementary tea, coffee and water at our disposal. The rooms were clean, with a safe and a.c. There are lots of restaurants, shops, shopping centres nearby. Price-quality ratio perfect. Good value for money.

Me ,my husband and our two children ( 3 and 7 years old) stayed at Anabel hotel for 1 week at the end of august.
The location is perfect , it's very close to the subway , a lot of good restaurants close to the hotel.
We easily could get to places like: Petergof , Peter and Paul Fortress, using the public transport.
The room was comfortable and clean. We had a room at the 6 floor.
The breakfast was OK, the variety of food was small and the dining hall was also small.
For children i would recommend this amusement park : http://www.divo-ostrov.ru/english
We enjoyed our stay.

A rather strange set-up but it works well; secure, convenient location and the female staff are very helpful, particularly Marina who welcomed us back in June when we had a delayed fight and arrived at 3am.
Clean, good value, enough variety at breakfast to keep us going for a week.
St Petersburg is awesome and we were well-placed to explore it.

The rooms of this hotel are very nice, even nicer than what you see in the pictures. All the services are ok and work properly. The staff is very kind, particularly the lady who serves breakfast. I don't really understand why people complain so much about the entrance, once you read how to find it, it's easy and the location is convenient.
