“Nice place, but chokes at high season”
Reviewed 29 May 2012

The hotel's location is reasonably good, albeit not exactly in the center. The rooms are functional and provide enough working space for business travelers. The WiFi coverage is sufficient for PC use, but I had difficulties to connect with my smartphone. What did annoy me was the extremely slow check-in. With only one person in front of me it took over 15 minutes to get the room key.

The real problem of this hotel is that the number of room capacity appears to be not in balance with the common facilities. In winter things work better, but in high season finding a place for breakfast gets tricky. Same concerns the bar and lobby capacity.

Dear Mr. Kaaremi,

Thank you for staying in Sokos Hotel Palace Bridge

It is very important for us to get clients feedback to improve quality of the service and keep high standards!
I regret that your visit to St. Petersburg was clouded by big occupancy of the hotel and you had to wait on check in and it wasn’t easy for you to find a place on breakfast. Our hotel is very popular in this time of the year. I hope you still enjoyed you stay and you had chance to relax in our SPA after a working day.

I really hope to see you again in our hotel!

Best Regards,

We spent here long weekend during the May's holidays. Even so our baggage was lost during the flight, we enjoyed the staying. The personal was very helpful and supported you in all your requests.
Hotel itself is new and has very good spa. Although we had not a chance to use it in full, it very good equipped and has variety of saunas, spa.
The location of hotel is also very good. It is just 10 min walk from Dvorsovaya square, and Hermitage.
I would highly recommend it for vacation and business trips

Thank you for your review.

It was nice to read that you have enjoyed your stay and mostly that you liked our service. Our staff is working to make stay of our clients as comfortable as possible.
Also, thank you for noticing that our SPA is really beyond the expectations. I am sad that you have not time to use it in full. I hope next time you reserve more time for your relaxation and feel its wonderful atmosphere.

Best wishes,

Location is exellent. Nevski is not far away and it was nice to walk to the island of Peter and Paul Fortress which is a very nice place. In my mind the restaurants nearby are not as expensive as those by Nevski. For example a lithuanian restaurant Gintaras by Sredniy Prospekt was cheap and the food was delicious.

Dear Armas,

On behalf of our entire team I would like to thank you for this positive feedback!
It is true that our hotel is in perfect location as we are right in the centre of Saint-Petersburg and you can easily reach any destination. We are glad you enjoyed sightseeing of our places of interest which are one of the most beautiful in Russia and all over the world. Hotel restaurants offer you different options such as: in Sevilla restaurant you can taste dishes of Spanish cuisine; in a restaurant of refined cuisine Dans Le Noir? you can feel the depth of true taste and scent of dishes and beverages as you have dinner without any source of light. We hope to welcome you as our guest once again and hope you can taste new menu in our restaurants and Lobby Bar Bridges.
I would like to thank you for your comments once again.
Looking forward to welcoming you as our guest.

I have stayed on a business trip in this hotel last year and I must say everything was perfect. Nice looking hotel and rooms, great SPA facility with lot of saunas, steam bath, pool. Very good breakfast with lot of choice. Location within walking distance from some of the points of interest. I would come back to this hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone, not only business, but also leisure. Who likes SPA and choice between different facilities must fall in love with this hotel.

The staff seems to be unprofessional. Good location, nice SPA and Dans le noir? restraunt are the only things we found pleasant. It's a disaster to keep such a staff!!!dear hotel manager!! Please, teach your team to work! How you can keep 5 star status if they do EVERYTHING wrong!! If u ask for NS room with KS bed - u find an ashtree in ur room and twin bed. Housekeeping do nothing but making up bed. No shampoo,no toothbrushes,no water in the room. Its impossible to get an answer from reception if u call from your room but if u get a success their answer will be "i dont know" ..

Dear Podrugasneba,

Thank you for your comment!
All comments of our clients are very important for us.
I am happy to hear that you tried our splendid SPA and you had time to visit Dans le Noir restaurant. This is really great that you enjoyed it. This is unique restaurant in St. Petersburg.

Furthermore I would like to apologize for inconveniences you faced during your stay. It is even sadder for me that you couldn’t reach reception from your room from the first time. Our service is the most important point in our business. We are constantly improving it.
Unfortunately you didn’t leave any details regarding cleaning of your room, so I could check everything deeply. But I am really sorry if we didn’t meet your expectations.
We hope to see you again soon with us and promise to do our best to meet your expectations as well at our SPA during your next visit!

Truly Yours,

This was our second stay at Sokos Palace Bridge -- the first having been about four years ago when it first opened. Once again, we had an excellent visit. Beautiful, modern, well designed, with an incredible health spa that includes a huge pool and about eight different saunas and steam baths in different styles -- beyond imagination! Located on Vasileevsky Island, the neighborhood is pleasant and quiet, and only about a 20 minute walk across the bridge to the Hermitage, and a quick subway ride to Nevsky Prospect. Be sure to check out the sculpture of Andrei Sakharov that's in the tiny square a couple of blocks away.

Dear Ms Elisabeth,

Thank you for your feedback!

You are absolutely right. Our SPA is the best in a city with the best equipped gym and different saunas including “snow paradise” sauna with the snow and minus temperature.
I am happy to see that our customers are returning to our hotel. I hope that you still choose our hotel for your vacation.
You can put even more value of our excellent location in summer time. It is so nice to walk in a heart of the city during warm white nights and to see how bridges coming up. And as you said it just 20 minutes walk to the Hermitage and just 10 minutes to Dvortsovy Bridge.

Look forward seeing you in our hotel

Best Regards

We had a wonderful stay at Sokos Hotel over spring break. It started off a little rough due to the fact we came into St Petersburg via the overnight train from Moscow and arrived at Sokos at 10:00 tired & in need of a shower. We were told by the very sweet desk clerk that check in was not until 2, but that she would see if she could find us a clean room. She was able to find a clean room, but then was told by the manager that we couldn't have it until 12:00. So with internet login vouchers, they so graciously gave us in hand we found a spot to "camp" for 2 hours, so at 12:00 when we went back up to the desk we were told no once again. We were finally able to get a room at 1:00. The rooms were clean, nicely furnished, but on the small side. The shower was amazing, the most water pressure I have ever had in a hotel :). We were disappointed that there was no coffee/tea service in the room. For breakfast you had the choice of going to the restaurant Sevilla for about $35 usd (it was a wonderful breakfast just pricey) or you could order a few items at more reasonable prices at the cafe.
The location of Sokos Palace Bridge is great. Short walking distance in one direction to Peter Paul Fortress & The Hermitage going the other directions. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Dear Bakerswoodfox,

Thank you for your feedback!

I am sorry that you couldn’t check in the hotel earlier. I understand how important for our clients to have a shower and just a good rest after a long road. We are doing everything to meet expectations of our customers. But unfortunately sometimes it is impossible to check in the guests before 14:00. As you mentioned we have free Wi-Fi and computer with internet connection, so you can spend your time profitably while waiting for a room. Also we have Garden café with tasty cakes and ice-cream and of course 24 hours Lobby bar. Luggage room is available 24 hors as well.
Breakfast is really wonderful. You can even have a red caviar and Russian champagne there. I am glad that you also enjoyed it.
Thank you for you comments once again.

I am looking forward to see you in our hotel.
