“Brilliant Hotel with great amenities”
Reviewed 24 January 2010

I stayed at Sokos Hotel Palace Bridge for 2 nights and enjoyed every minute of the stay. The hotel is very beautiful, convenient location, GREAT breaksfast, very beautiful and comfortable rooms and excellent service.

We didn't have any other meals at the hotel than breakfast but that was very good, wide selection and left us all very satisfied. The lobby bar was nice and service good and the menus were not very pricey.

Free WLAN was also available and a very nice bonus.

The basic standard room was beautiful, great size and wonderful amenities; bathrobes, slippers, safe, ironing board, TV and so on.

I recommed this hotel to everyone!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Sokos Hotel Palace Bridge. The room was very very nice and clean, roomy and quiet. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel amenities very good. We particularly appreciated the gym, which was well stocked with an in-house personal trainer available. The breakfast and Spanish restaurant were good but expensive. The spa/pool area was very impressive but a significant extra cost to use. It was a 20-minute a walk to the main part of town (e.g. Nevsky Prospekt) or a 10-minute walk to the metro (which is very cheap, regular and easy to use). If you are a non-smoker, be sure to check that you have a non-smoking room. We were glad we did as we have become unaccustomed to smoke now that it's been banned from many places (not so in Russia!).

We spent a wonderfull time in this hotel and St. Petersburg in last summer. Rooms are clean, staff helpful (in Russian standard) and breakfast excellent. The spa was a peaceful place to relax after walking around unbelievable beautiful St. Petersburg. Distances are long, so don´t forget comfortable shoes/sneakers.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Its close enough to the Hermitage and the Peter Paul Fortress to walk.

The rooms are very modern, and rather clean. The television does have some English channels but they are mostly business channels.

The restaurants are great (but expensive). The staff is very friendly, and speak English very well (obviously the front desk will be better with English than other members of the staff).

After dinner I would suggest spending sometime in the lobby just hanging out, most of the other travels I met were very nice and fun to speak with. There were also a few guys playing chess, and others watching sports.

The main draw back is the hotels distance from a metro station. Also the business center is one just one computer, but there is no charge and there is a printer too.

Finally, use the hotel's taxi to get to the airport or the train station, or a gypsy taxi... a yellow taxi driver wanted 2,500 rubles to get to the hotel from the train station (the ride is worth about 500 rubles).

This is an amazing hotel. The location could be bit better but it is a longer walk away from the center, shich is ok. Rooms are large, beautifully decorated. Beds are very comfortable, Barthrooms are nice and big. Inernet is free everywhere in the hotel. Breakfast buffet is excellent. I really have no complaints. Sokos has a fantastic spa and a pool scene, with whirlpools, saunas, steam rooms and more. There are several bars, night club and a bowling alley. What I was very pleasantly surprised with was a fabulous customer service. everyone has been super friendly and helpful although the service at the lobby bar could be little faster. Over all, amazing hotel. I highly recommend it!

This hotel is a great value with beautiful ammentities and helpful staff. The reason for the reasonable price is that it is a little out of the way; a long walk to the Winter Palace and Nevsky Prospect. The breakfast is excellent with a variety of Russian and American foods. I would definitely stay here again.
