“Nevksy Breeze Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 March 2013

Who ever says Nevsky Breeze Hotel is average or bad doesn't know what he is talking about! I just spent five nights at this hotel, and I loved it. Bear in mind, I ordered the cheapest room available. It was called Min. Stay. The room was clean, modern, big, cosy, and very comfortable. I had two beds, a soda, beautiful bathroom, and two TVs. The room was cleaned every day (including Sunday). The staff spoke English and was helpful. The breakfast was delicious. They had sausages, gretcha, oatmeal, cereal, sweets, coffee, tea, different varieties of bread, fruit, vegetables, and the people workin in the cafeteria were so kind.
The price I paid was so cheap with such short notice. If I have to mention one minus, it would be the fact that the walls are a bit thin. That is my only objection.
The location is great. It is not far from the Neva river and Isaakevskij Cathedral and Nevsky Prospekt. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, whether you travel as a touris or businessman! Furthermore, I would love to go back there.

Room Tip: Great hotel

Located in good area (safe).

Really close to Hermitage. Easy to get to any needed place (really close to public transport, which is important in order to save time).

Not many grocery options arount hotel.

Breakfast - if you stay for longer period be ready, that not many alternatives (same food every day).

Room - easy to hear what is going on in another rooms, same time very comfortable rooms, :) if you go as couple - be ready, that there will be 2 separate beds.. which might bother!

Employees - always helpful.

Dear Guests,
We thank you for your review. We are happy that your overall impression of our hotel is positive and thank you for noting our advantages. At the same time, we are really sorry about the beds and apologize for any inconvenience caused, but that is true - most of the rooms in our hotel are twin rooms. However, we hope it will not influence your decision to choose our hotel again when you are planning your next trip to St.Petersburg.

Booked this hotel for a getaway week end with my girlfriend. It has a great location and everything was walking distance. However you can hear absolutely everything from your room: TV, toilets, shower, and even other people sneezing or farting...
- rooms: average, decent size, clean but a bit old
- bathroom: correct
- staff: very nice and helpful if they speak english (helped us booked a restaurant, kept the bag for last day, booked the cab to/from airport...). Only once someone picked up, said "no english" and hung up...
- location: walking distance to Hermitage, Mariinski theater, the center,...
- breakfast: very basic and a bit boring but it was included
- facilities: NA
- price: we had an extremely good deal so overall we got what we paid for...

I am not sure I would recommend this hotel (even though it has a great location) unless you get a great deal.

This is a small but clean hotel. I stayed here for four days. The location makes up for any shortcomings as far as the ambience etc. The front desk ladies all speak English and are very helpful. The breakfast is great and filling. You walk out and about one minute to the right, you are in front of the Aleksandr garden/bronze statue. From there, one minute to left, you are at the Neva river to watch the bridges open at night; about a couple of minutes to the right, you are in front of the St. Isaac's Cathedral. Another seven to ten minutes and you are at the Hermitage and the Palace square. As I said, location can't be beat for the price. I was very satisfied.

The free wifi isn't great on higher floors and will keep disconnecting or will barely work.

Room Tip: I would choose a lower floor as the wifi works better closer to the reception area. I hope they will...

We told the travel agent that we were prepared to spend a little more for a solid hotel. This was not what what we got (4 nights standard triple). Presentation both outside (most of the other buildings were abandoned or under refurb) and inside was under par, the room was small - and last decorated about 15 years ago. The stairwell stank of stale Russian smoking. The mattresses were very thin and the third 'bed', a fold -out chair, for our teenage son was narrow and not terribly comfortable. Breakfast was cut price, a la Lidl - there is nothing wrong with this if you have booked a budget hostel (and in the past we have, so we know the difference) but was inadequate for a hotel for which we had paid this amount. In general staff were polite but were slow to respond the 2nd time that I could not work the room safe (this is not a problem I have encountered in any other city or hotel). At the end of our stay we asked for a taxi to take us to the station, we were over charged, we felt, for a short drive in a private car (time did not permit us to find an alternative). This was an unpleasant place to return to at the end of a days sight seeing and it's inadequacies undermined our enjoyment of our stay in St Petersburg. My husband helps run a hostel for homeless people in England, he said they aim for higher standards than this 'hotel' was able to provide. My advice - avoid this hotel, unless you are a profligate backpacker.

We stayed as one adult and two teenagers in one room for 3 days, 4 nights. To the fifth floor, you can walk up the five flights of stairs or take the elevator that has a maximum weight of 6 people (it is also not terribly fast). The hotel appears to be a converted office or factory or something of the sort as the stairs are quite dingy and i think on the 3rd or 4th floor, there is an overwhelming smell of smoke - all the more motivation to finish the five flights! Not too much of a problem, just thought i might point it out.
The room we stayed in had two single beds pushed together (all of a sudden a double bed) but the sheets and duvets and so forth were made for a single bed (no "togetherness"). Fine for us, just as a heads up for maybe couples. Third "bed" was a fold-out chair which we had to assemble each night, not too much of a problem as the room wasn't extremely large. Just ended up though leaving it out like a bed all the time as hardly used the "sofa-like" chair which was positioned like 2 metres from the dressing table. Inside our room there was the dressing table, beds (and chair), two bedside tables, a cupboard, table at the entrance and bathroom. The bathroom had a shower, sink, towel rack and toilet. Be careful inside the shower as the curtain hardly covers the floor so if you love to dance inside showers, take a chill pill, as otherwise you'll be mopping up the floor (1st day incident). Overall a nice room with plenty of lights. Comfortable beds.
We had breakfast at the hotel, and the hotel does not provide any other mealtime. It was a buffet mostly made up of traditional Russian food - excellent! There was: boiled-like sausages; russian oats; made-up porridge; bread (white and brown) which could be toasted; muesli; yoghurt; apple, lemon and orange slices; an assortment of drinks including tea, coffee, juice (the usual). If you want water, you have to go to the water cooler for either "hot" or "cold" (they are both tepid)- there is no sparkling water. Plenty of seating as there weren't a terrible amount of guests.
Best bit of this hotel is it's location. It is fabulous. It is next to a Russian mini-market in case you want food for when you are in your room. However, it is just a short walk from .. everything! Anywhere you want to go, it is probably pretty close-by or has a bus stop or the sort near-by! You are situated right beside a park with a lovely statue, the river, the Isachi, and if you want to go out for lunch or dinner, there are plenty or places just a short walk away! This location factor is big in making this hotel from just-about average to excellent! Just what you want if you are an enthusiastic traveller or culture-fanatic.

Room Tip: If you are a non-smoker, try not get a room on the 3rd or 4th floor (can't remember which) as st...

Great hotel and location, 5 minute walk from the city center.Rooms were big enough, and were cleaned every day. The staff was very kind ,friendly and spoke English. They even gave me a greeting card the day of my birthday! It has an elevator (very rare in st.Petersbourg!) Breakfast was good. I was very satisfied and I would suggest it if you are looking for a nice and affordable accomodation.
