“Good choice, no frills just the essential!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 September 2013

Spent 3nights during a long weekend after a biz trip to Moscow. Don't expect the classic hotel with a proper reception, bell boy etc. this is more like a budget hotel but with everything you really need to enjoy your stay, especially when you plan to spend most of the time out visiting this charming city. The place occupies the 2nd floor of an old building, didn't try the elevator (rather scaring!) however the staircase is very wide and easy. Very helpful receptionists with good command of english, fast check-in, I was given a room on Moskovsky Pr. side, I must admit quite noisy so I would recommend to choose if possible one overlooking the patio. Otherwise the quality of the bed, overall cleanliness of the huge room including the bathroom was definitely good. Essential continental "DYI" breakfast with enough variety to satisfy most of the tastes. The position of the hotel is extremely good, 5 mins from an interchange underground station (3 lines), less than half an hour walking from main attractions (i.e. Hermitage), plenty of restaurants around (very recommandable Khochu Kharcho if you want to experience the best georgian food) and finally opposite to the bust stop where you can catch the shuttle bus K-213 which for 35 RUB (less than 1€) brings you to Pulkovo-2 Intl. Airport. For approx 100€/night with free and fast wifi connection I can only recommend this more than decent place.

Very nice hotel. For a young couple who spend the entire day visiting the sites of Sankt Petersburg is the perfect place. Three metro stations just around the corner. Nevsky Prospect within walking distance. Good breakfast. Nice receptionists and very kind and helpfull. Clean room. Not for the snobish kind, but for the tourists that need from their hotel a clean, nice room, quiet and nice service. Me and my wife liked it.

Just back from a 5 day city trip to St-Petersburg. For the hotel we've chosen the Allegro Hotel. Our first impression when we've entered the building was 'Oh my, what have we done' but once inside the hotel everything was excellent. Very friendly personnel at the reception, spacious and clean rooms, quiet, ... Also the location of the hotel was super. Close to a central metro station on the crossing of 3 line so the whole city was reachable, next to a local market and a shopping center, and surrounded by restaurants, shops and banks.
Only minor point was the breakfast. It was quite basic and without any variation, but you just needed to walk out the door to buy a breakfast according to your taste.
So, in brief: If you are looking for a good, clean, friendly affordable hotel in the center of SPB, hotel Allegro on Moskofky Prospect should definitely be on your list

Room Tip: since the minor price difference we've chosen the suite which was an excellent choice

Dear Guests,
All our hotel team wants to thank you for the review.

For us the most important thing is to know that our guests were satisfied not only with our rooms or with a central location, but also with our friendly staff. Of course there few things in our hotel, as the main entrance, that is rather difficult for us to change now, but we are always trying to do everything possible to create friendly and comfortable atmosphere for each of our guest.

Also you mentioned, that you stayed in our Suite room, and you are absolutely right, that there no big difference in prices, and we always advise our guests to choose Superior or Suite Rooms especially for long stays.

We really appreciate your opinion about the hotel, and we hope to see you next time in our hotel, and we will be really happy to welcome you as our friend.

Kind regards,
Margarita Bratova

It was a 4 day trip to Saint-Petersburg, just to see the main sights of the city. We were looking for a hotel in the center but not in the most crowded part, so we’ve chosen Allegro Moskovsky.
Nice hotel, not so big, about 20 rooms, friendly atmosphere. Really fast Wi-Fi, that was a surprise to me. The location is great, in walking distance to the center. It was a decent value for the price. All we expected was in the room. And we were upgraded to the room of higher category without any extra charge, that was really cool. So instead of standard it was spacious superior room with a balcony and a view on Moskovsky prospect.
I’m not sure about the prices in the summer, probably they are higher than in the winter. So, if you're planing your trip to Saint-Petersburg during the white nights (as I know now – it is the best time to visit), it’s better to start reserving a hotel in advance. If we ever come to Saint Petersburg again, we will stay at Allegro Moskovsky without a doubt.

It is not my 1st time in St.-Petersburg, but the 1st time in Allegro Hotel. After a bad experience in my previous hotel, I decided to find another one. The Hotel is in a good location, in the center of St.-Petersburg, very close to metro station, bus stop and all the attractions.
The hotel itself is very cozy, nice rooms with a balcony, big bed, TV, air condition. Continental breakfast, not a buffet breakfast, but it was ok.
The stuff is very kind and helpful! They organized a transfer from the airport directly to the Hotel. That was nice. They helped me to find all the places that I needed, booked a table in a restaurant. I liked the hotel and next time I will definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for Margarita....she is great!

we are a 6 membered familly, went for vacation to ruusia, we booked at allegro moskovisky hotel for 6 days but when we saw the hotel we selpt only one night, cancelled the booking and searched for another hotel to continew our vacation in.
1. first of all the entrance is terrible with a locked door that you have to ring the bell and wait the reception to open to you so you can go in.
3. no elivator, you have to carry your lugage 3 floors by stares until you arrive to the hotel.
2. only one girl at the hotel doing all the serving (room service, cleaning, serving breakfast, replying at the phone on the reception) that was weird.
3. breakfast was discusting with bad smell and dirty plates.
the onlly advantage is the location near the metro.
I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your review.
We highly appreciate that you take the time to leave a feed-back about our hotel on TripAdvisor. Let me sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that you experienced during your stay. Due to the old building, our hotel doesn`t have a modern lift. It only suitable for 2 persons.
We installed the lock on the door only with the view of security of our guests. We are sorry if this caused inconvenience to you. Allegro hotel is a mini-hotel that is why our staff team is small. Each member of our hotel can execute different functions. But most of our hotel team is hidden from the view of our guests. That is why it could give you the impression that one girl doing all the work in the serving. The misunderstanding with the dirty plates is rather exception because we always try to keep a good look-out for cleaning the dishes. We will do our best to improve our service in each and every detail.
We are looking forward to welcoming you some day back to the hotel once giving us an opportunity to change your opinion and re-estimate our services.
With kind regards,
Margarita Bratova

We choose Allegro mainly for its location with a shuttle bus across the street directly to Pulkovo-2 and a metro sattion is at its doorstep. With 35 rubles the busride was for Saint Petersburg unbeleavably cheap.

The Allegro hotel appeared a pleasant surprise. Located in a large, decrepit old building with a hard to find entrance just off very busy Moskovskaya street. Behind the steel entrance door there is in the stairwell the usual Russian neglect and being in disrepair. The elevator is a true Soviet relict.

Once you enter into the hotel area, you step back into the 21st century. Rooms are spacious, clean and relatively modern. Free Wi-Fi internet and complimentory tea & coffee all day. Furniture and decor are is of a nondescript standard type. We had a room facing the tranquil inner courtyard and not the noisy Moskovskaya. Windows can be opened and the windowsill is surprisingly large. The beds were comfortable and althought walls are relatively thin and floors shook as people walked by, we slept well. The buffet style breakfast is standard and OK.

Surprisingly the emergency door at our floor was locked plus blocked by drying laundry. In case of fire and without a rope we would have been trapped 10 meters above the pavement of the inner courtyard.

With a rate of € 127 a night including breakfast, the hotel was overpriced to European standards yet price worthy for a neo-socialist dollar economy. All in all you get a nice room in a good location for a relatively decent price.

Room Tip: Ask for a guestroom facing the ugly inner courtyard: far more quiet.
