Hotel well positioned with the center and not far from the main attractions.
The metro station is far away but during our trip there was a new nearest station under costruction.

The hotel is small and not very nice. The breakfast is minimal and is served in small dishes to bring to room as rations.
The rooms are on 2 floors of a building with no elevator.
The reception is managed by young boys who do not speak English.
Noisy rooms and bathrooms minimal and blind.

I picked this hotel for the location - which is excellent for the Hermitage, boat trips on the Neva, and the Mariinsky and in a quiet area away from the noise of the Prospects downtown. The view of St Isaac's Cathedral is a bonus but....

Do not do this to yourself! This is a casually run shambles not operated by professional hotelliers. There is no way this can be described as a “boutique” hotel. If you value your sleep - which you will need - beware! The walls are wafer-thin so any conversation or television from the next room will torment you. A loud ticking wall clock adds to the experience. The standard of cleanliness is not good - grimey bathroom tile grouting, thick dust around and behind the furniture, stained curtains and sheets and a truly disgusting carpet. Despite the website's promises of a "buffet breakfast" - this consists of plates set out on a counter in the corridor with triangles of unpleasant industrial cheese, jam cartons and some processed white sliced bread to put in a toaster. The orange juice is from powder and there is no fresh fruit. You have to eat this off a plastic tray in your room - which is OK, except they forgot to make up my room one day and coming back to the tray still sitting on an unmade bed is unpleasantly squalid. The breakfast is hardly substantial and will leave you starting the search for the cafe in the Hermitage early. If you do insist on staying here, don’t forget your anti-mosquito kit. No effort has been made, however, to screen the window or install a device. The staff are extremely casual and did not bother to register my visa - which other hotels I stayed at in Russia made a big deal of and so probably could have caused problems if I had had any run ins with authority. No lift and lots of stairs. Don't stay here!
