We went with Russian friends so obviously didn't have a problem with the language and followed their recommendations as to what to eat.

The highlight of our meal was a large platter of different meats, mainly beef and lamb and very tasty it was too.

A large bunch of fresh green herbs was part of the meal and apparently the way you should eat this food is to munch a spring of herbs as you go along. It actually worked well…..

We started and ended with brandy, to warm us up after the chill of outside! The Georgian red wine was excellent.

Terrific choice for lunch around Kazan Cathedral and Nevsky Prospect. Hearty food all around and, contrary to what some other travelers have reported, my waitress spoke excellent English. Reasonable prices.

We spent our first evening in Petersburg here and it was the best choice! Althoug the staff´s English had its limits, they were extremely helpful and kind. As none of us speaks russian more than few words, the cheif came and gave us some good advices what to try. We had a delicious appetizer - "chatsaturi" - it was some baked flat cake with eggs and a special cheese. We´ve tasted also shaslik from beef and lamb - gorgeous! The summary is that for a bit of money you enjoy great meals in Suliko. We´ve been there Thursday night and there was also live music - some local guy with guitar - not very noisy, just matching to the atmosphere...Thanks a lot for a pleasant evening.

We went there for recommandation from a friend and the restaurant is not so good we took pork shashlik and we had the feeling the meat was from a day before, the potatoes with pork was too salty but for starter we took atchapouri ( it's bread with cheese inside) really good compare to a other georgian restaurant i've done before.

We went there on the recommendation of our guidebook.

The restaurant itself is soulless, empty and uninviting.

The food was pretty much the same. With salt.

It was also expensive.
