Description: Restaurant Tbiliso is a gastronomic legend of SPb. Opened 10 years ago it remains an unique Museum with the great collection of masterpieces - excellent Caucasian cuisine, wines and Georgian traditions. You can taste dishes of rare Imereti, Adzharia, Kutaisi and Ossetian cuisine, cheese from own cheese farm and homemade jam. Tbiliso looks like Georgian patio. The floor is decorated like an old road, rarity stamping, forging copyrights, curtains of organza with reproductions of paintings by Niko Pirosmani.

The restaurant features Georgian cuisine - fragrant, spicy, rich and hearty. It has been my favourite for a long time and I think it deserves its growing reputation - book ahead! Must try - harcho soup, warm salad with chicken liver, khinkali (steamed spicy dumplings), chebureki (deep fried meat stuffed pastry, served with spicy sauce), the list goes on... Having eaten in various Georgian restaurants in Saint-Petersburg I can confidently say Tbiliso is head and shoulders above the rest. My advice - don't just settle for a starter and a main course, order a variety of cold and hot dishes to share.

I had never tried Georgian food so this restaurant was an adventure for me, and I liked it. I wouldn't have the tarragon soda again but it's one of the things you should try once. The waiter was extremely helpful and gave us great advice. Flavors are strong, food is spicy but not hot, so I guess if your not into condiments this would not be the right place to come. But we really liked it, from the cucumber, tomato, onion salad through the roasted eggplant with walnut filling, to the pork with plum sauce (sour not sweet) with pomegranate seeds everything was good and far from plenty. It made me rediscover dill with many possibilities and combinations.Everything in a nice setting full of details and allusions to Georgia in the decor.
