Stepping into the Astoria is like stepping into the luxury and atmosphere of the past. The reception staff are very welcoming and helpful. All the staff are very professional and the hotel is very well run. Tanya who manages the very cosy Lichfield Bar is very knowledgable and entertaining. The breakfasts have lots of choice and are cooked to order. Choose the main dining area as the small side one is not so comfortable or well stocked. The rooms are very well furnished and spotless. The bathrooms are marble with very good facilities. The best time to visit is during the White Nights in July when it does not get dark until about 4 am. The hotel is within walking distance of several sights and has buses two minutes away including the City Tour Hop OnHop Off Bus.
