“Room is very clean but no free wifi”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 October 2011

The hotel is very big, you have to remember the location of your room carefully if you gonna stay there for few days. I can't tell the location because i joined a group tour to visit St. Petersburg. Room is clean but no free wifi. There is a supermarket next to the hotel, where you can buy some local snack and drink especially alcoholic drink which is cheap.
And, there is a very big swimming pool i think it is good if you travel with kids in Summer.

We stayed here during a conference and, though I was hesitant about our stay based on reviews on this site, I was content with the hotel. Room was comfortable, no problems checking in and staff was cordial and all spoke English. Buffet breakfast was fine, and ample enough to hold us until well in the afternoon. Cash was readily available at ATMS in the lobby, and a taxi to the center of town was 440 rubles, or about $13. The metro is not that far away -- an 80 year old couple in our group was able to walk to the station, so I imagine most able bodied younger adults could manage just fine. All in all, not disappointed. I am sure that a hotel in the center of town would be nicer for most tourists, but aside from the distance from the center of town, we found this hotel perfectly fine.

I have visited St.Petersburg a number of times and stayed in some excellent hotels (I must put them on). But this time I had a chance of catching up with someone staying in this hotel. Arriving late gone midnight was never going to be a quick check in and it wasn't. Thre was only one person in front of me. The room was ok but nothing special. A little like an IKEA room with all those loud primary colours. Who ever said that was conducive to a pleasant rest.
What really annoyed me was spending nearly $25 for 24 hr access on WiFi.

Hotels like this need to wake up as I won't stay here again and we know that wifi is not a revenue earner. Back to Sokos

Room Tip: One over the bay is essential

Coming to this kind of Soveit Hotels, one can wonder what is the ineterest of Park Inn or Radisson to give its brand name to such a kind of Hotel. I do not think that is good for thier business, of course if they care baout their customers.

Hotel is good if you are organizing their conference or meeting and are afraid that people will run to see the city. It is far away from the Center so... Problems. Huge Hotel with only one restourant and bar. Nothing near by to go and eat...

So, one day Conference ,you can take that risk

Want to see St.Petersburg , get another Hotel

but question still remains, why Radisson?

A very long way from town, nowhere to walk to. Impressive entrance but when you see the bathroom you wonder how it got 4*s, all there is is a soap dispenser, no shaver point and no adapter available to borrow from reception. The only bottled water for sale is via a machine. Cashier unable to change money. Buffet food was always tepid and there were no vegetables apart from potatoes one evening. I will not be returning to this hotel on my next trip

Room Tip: Please give this one a miss

The foyer is impressive with shops and bars. The room we had was ok,mould round the bath with cheap soap dispensers. No nicities at all. You could get a kettle at the reception for a small deposit, there was no charge for the kettle, needed own tea bags, coffee etc as there were none in the room. The buffet breakfast was ok, a bit of a bun fight. The food in the evening was dreadful, didn't try the other restuarant as we on a tour and the food was included. Did try to get a drink in the bar, after 15 mins of being ignored we decided to risk the road and go to the Irish Bar. Very unfriendly staff,Vodka tonic and a beer cost £12. Made a hasty retreat to the supermarket next door and bought drink there.
The Hotel is far from town and the metro was about 10 mins away. Wouldn't bother with this Hotel again.

We stayed there for 3 nights as part of a Russia tour. It was really huge and it was full in july. The staff was prepared to serve this big volume of guests. Location is on the outskirt of the city, just next to the sea. The bus line can take you directly to the city center. Food is good and the room condition is rather close to average than very good. Gym and water park excluded of the room price as they are operated by 3rd parties and the entrance fee is quite expensive.
