“Ugh”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2010

I stayed here for two nights in summer. The bedrooms were very very dated and did not have a clean feeling at all. The bathrooms were terrible, with mould visible. The bath towels were hand towels so getting dry was difficult. To be honest I slept on the lounge in the foyer of our floor for both nights as the room was that bad. There was a bowling alley, pool tables and a few bars which were good as it meant I didnt have to go back to my room!! The location is not that good, didnt walk into town at all......

This place is horrible. I am extremely tolerant of budget hotels, but this place was really disgusting. I stayed here on a tour for 2 nights, and would have preferred a hostel. The water was brown and you rarely had hot water for the shower. Most people just waited to shower until we got to Finland because it was so gross. We had one fairly decent breakfast (bliny) here, but the supper and other breakfast were both completely revolting.

We were told it might be demolished in a year. I guess that didn't happen, but it should be! It was dirty and creepy, and should absolutely be avoided. This is the worst place (including hostels) I have ever stayed in.

Might be ok for budget minded travelers. It's about a half an hour walk from the hotel to the city center; there may be buses and such, but English is not a strength of the locals. It is by the river which is nice for pictures and such if you want.

The lobby was pretty nice and the staff was courteous. The rooms however are quite horrible. While no random bugs or huge issues, there was dust collecting at some parts of the room. It is also very old. For example, the door to the washroom was a sliding door, but did not appear to be on rails.. so you basically had to lug this giant block of wood from side to side.

I think there are better options available.

I stayed here with a friend on a trip in August 2007 in a double room with a toilet and shower. The hotel is a bit far out of the way and the surrounding areas didn't seem the safest at night, at least not for two young australian girls. The rooms were clean enough, this is Russia so I didn't expect much. Shower and toilet were horrible, not because they were dirty but because of the condition of the tiles. They were sunken in towards the drain. The upside is that this place has a great bar, bowling alley, shooting gallery and so on. I would probably stay at this place again but just because of the price.
