I always wanted to test this so much recommended hotel in Peter...its real good quality but very often full booked and thatwhy not ok for traveller like me who using hotels every week...rooms nice with nice interiour, two restaurant...dining style and bub style...from both possible to get food and hotel visitors some extra drinks without charge.Rooms inc even minibars wich are in these days rare in general.Nice bed, nice bathroom and everything clean.because this hotel in city center it means that not much garden or private area around it but quite nice small green bar area inside hotel yard.

Room Tip: I think all good

I have just returned from an incredible three day trip to St Petersburg, which I wouldn't have enjoyed so much without the help of the very efficient and helpful staff of this delightful hotel, particularly both concierges. They gave us comprehensive advice of what to do and where to go before arriving, and when we made our choices, helped it all go as smoothly as possible during our stay by booking venues and arranging taxis and guides for us.
The Helvetia has two lovely places to relax and dine in after a busy day with prices that are very reasonable compared with other restaurants nearby, the café has a charming terrace serving both traditional and international cuisine, whilst the restaurant offers lots of tasty local dishes, and is open 24 hours.
The rooms I booked were basic, clean and comfortable which is all you need when on a busy city break, I highly recommend the Helvetia Hotel.

Charming little hotel close to Nevkiy Prospekt and Mayakovskaya subway station. Friendly and efficient staff and excellent breakfast buffet. The rooms are a bit small, but well equipped and very clean. Prices are more than reasonable for this rather expensive city. Warmly recommended.

This hotel was the last on a trip that began in Beijing, continued on the Trans-Siberian Railway through Mongolia, ending in Moscow. From there it was an easy trip to St Petersburg, mainly to visit the Hermitage Museum. The four nights in the Helvetia Hotel simply contributed to one of my best travel experiences ever. Previously the Swiss Embassy, it offered comfort, style and a welcoming atmosphere. It is very centrally located and the two restaurants have far more character and atmosphere than any of the others on the trip.

Aside from the historic value of the buildings that house this hotel (take the time to read about it - details in a booklet in each room), staying here was like an oasis from the hustle and bustle of downtown St Petersburg.

When we got to the hotel, we couldn't believe it. We were offered champagne on check-in, the staff were extremely wonderful and after a long morning of traveling, we were in our rooms way before the published check-in times. And when we got to the room - wow! It was amazing. Not the biggest room in the world, but fantastically set out, great bedding, furniture and the bathroom - wow! Really quite lush.

The location was good too, but I can also highly recommend both the café at the hotel as well as the pub/restaurant. Both had a great selection of food.

This hotel felt like home away from home. Located close to main road Nevsky prospekt and near railway station , Helvetia was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed Dinner during our stay at the Marius and Claret which was within the courtyard of Hotel. Portions were generous and staff again extremely obliging. Great hotel!!!

Great hotel, right in the middle of everywhere. Nice clean rooms, courtyard for coffee. Breakfast was o.k., would have liked maybe a bit more "western" breakfast...e.g. yogurt, cereals. Staff were very helpfull, Great hotel for position to all the museums and shopping.
