This hotel is opposite St Issac's and within walking distance of many restaurants and public transport. It was a great location. I had contacted the concierge before my trip and they had everything ready for us! It was nice to have champagne on check in ( as many glasses as you like) . Rooms were huge, there were two double beds , a walk-in closet and big bathroom. I loved it and it had a view of the Cathedral (somewhat) . The hotel had a souvenir shop and money exchange bank attached.

Wife and I stayed here for 3 days, 2 nights last week. This stay in turn renewed our faith in the city. =) All in all, as a Marriott Platinum, I am extremely happy with our stay.

Here is what you get...

A centrally located, 4 star hotel with the service of a 5 star, on par with any Jw or Ritz I have stayed at. By western standards, the hotel might not have the wow factor, but for St. Petersburg... this was a GREAT hotel.

The staff is the strong point here. Every employee we had encountered, from the checkin staff, to the concierge/navigator, to the restaurant staff, the bar tender and of course the management... all truly wanted to help, most of all, genuinely, and not coming off as they had to.

As a platinum member, we were upgraded to an 8th floor city view room. The room was clean, bed comfortable, 2 complimentary bottles of water.

Since this hotel is more of a boutique hotel, it does not have a concierge lounge. I emailed, about a month ago the hotel manager to find out what the amenities were for elite members. In lieu of the lounge, we would get vouchers for drinks and breakfast in the restaurant.

When we checked in, I was wowed when the manager remembered my name from the emails and personally came over, introduced herself to wife and I and had a great chat. Quite impressed with the attention to details. When we returned to the room later in the day, pleasantly surprised by a bottle of champagne and a note from the manager.

Amenities
The hotel has a really nice fitness center along with a very clean Sauna, in both men's and women's locker rooms.
There is a money exchange place and an atm in the lobby of the hotel which offered very reasonable rates and were able to change Rubles to USD before returning. Much safer than going into and out of a bank on the street. Most of all, competitive rates, and of course better than anything you get at the airports.

The breakfast was served in the restaurant and was AMAZING.
Drinks were anything from fresh squeezed juices to champagne. There was a food bar, along with omelette's that they can make just for you.

Only quirk..... the tub is quite narrow at the end where you would stand to take a shower. The only other non 5 star thing... in our room, the caulking around the sink was poorly done and highly visible. That would pass for a Courtyard in the states... but probably not a Renaissance.

Note for non residents, there is a 200 Ruble registration fee, however it is disclosed earlier.

Nelly and team... GREAT JOB.

Room Tip: City view rooms are quite nice, esp for tourists. Rooms on floors 7 and 8 are city view. Below, so...

Stayed for 2 nights during April 2014. The property is centrally located, right next to a beautiful cathedral and 10 min walk to the Hermitage. We booked through a HK travel agent instead of the hotel website, however it took more than 15 mins to queue as it only has 1 check in counter. We also have quick lunch at the hotel bar which was quite average.
Overall, service could be better, and they are also other chain hotels (W, Four Seasons etc nearby).

Room Tip: Would be nice if can choose room that has an outside window.

The hotel looks like a good Marriott hotel from the outside: the atrium, the front desk. The room size was very comfortable , the beds met the standards and were comfortable. The bathroom however was below standard : old bathtub, small size, poor hairdryer.
Breakfast buffet was good.
The staff was very pleasant and attentive, providing nice attention.
The hotel location is very convenient and you can walk to the the different museums, churches, the canals...
Globally, we were disappointed by the hotel quality and would not go back there.

Stayed here April 2014, initially for four nights which became 11 nights.

The hotel is centrally located, easily identifiable as a Marriott group hotel and with that the brilliant service that is a key feature of the brand.

The rooms are big, bright, clean and serviced well. No flaky paint, broken lights or noise (unlike some London properties!)

However, it is the staff that are the stars. Our stay was extended for reasons outside of our control and the team bent over backwards to do all they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible in somewhat difficult circumstances.

I can't fault the team or the hotel. A special mention for Denis on the front desk - Thank you!

Room Tip: There are rooms that face into an inner atrium - found these very quiet.

We stayed here in March for 4 days. The hotel was in a great location, near to everything. I waned to stay in an American chain hotel due for security, and language reasons. Their concierge service was fantastic. We arranged with them to get picked up at the airport, as our arrival was near midnight. A lovely A class Mercedes picked up and they were on time. Room was perfect and next morning the breakfast was excellent. Their concierge service is from 9am to 9pm and they will arrange everything. Nothing was too much trouble for the girls who were there.
All the staff were helpful. We walked everywhere, it is very near the Hermitage. We walked to the opera and also to Nevesky Prospect. I cant recommend this hotel highly enough as it is perfect for visiting St Petersburg. It is on a quiet street so no noise at night is an added bonus.

Room Tip: Our room was perfect and it faced the atrium so it was especially quiet
