Renaissance St. Petersburg Baltic Hotel

While very conveniently located in the center of town, walking distance to the river, Hermitage and major sites of St. Petersburg, the only thing about this hotel that really stands out is the staff. The people throughout (from the front desk to the bar or restaurant) were always very accommodating and friendly. The room was a bit lackluster, and mine overlooked the inner courtyard (which is artificially illuminated). It was clean, but nothing about this hotel really had much personality (again, other than the people). Honestly, the overall aesthetic reminded me more of an American motel than a nice (and rather expensive) hotel.

The location is great, not far from everything, very good neighbourhood - St.Isacs cathedral, Mariinskiy theater, Senatskaya square - Peter the Great (Horseman) monument...Hotel is very beautiful, junior suite is very good, view from the room was cathedral - greatest view! In sommer time the terrace restaurant is "must to be visited" - it is located on 6th or 5th floor! Weekends - in the bar live violin music - great!

The best hotel in which I've ever stayed. Perceptive, unobtrusive, accommodating staff. A comfortable, secure retreat. Quietly elegant. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in St. Petersburg.

This hotel lies in a cosy small street close to all the big attractions.

The last time I was in St Pete was 13 years ago. The city looks much better these days (and people seem friendlier)

The check in at the hotel was very efficient and very friendly. The staff went out of their way to make sure everything was correct and clear. They have great chocolate treat to offer you durin the check in!

The room was nice and spacious enough with a nice desk. Just be carefull to use the internet, vastly overpriced.
The bed was comfortable and the badroom OK equipped.

The view from the room was the internal courtyard, it was all Ok and quiet.

The concierge assisted me in getting a car and a driver for a 1 hour city trip. Be carefull, our driver went out of his way to make sure we used another 30min without telling us, he was a bit pushy. The rate was not to high, but still I didnt like this behaviour.

Everything is close by and most things can be visited by foot.

Check out was ok. Only thing is that after my departure my credit card was charged with 400Rouble without telephone call or email explaining. Need to follow up pro actively with the hotel.

we stayed at this great hotel for five days. I cant say enough about the great staff, the clean rooms, the perfect beds, and the great attitudes of every one who we came across. Russia is far away, and we were told some pretty scary stuff. This hotel put us completely at ease. We loved our stay, and would suggest this hotel to anyone traveling to this beautiful city!

We spent a lot of time looking for the right hotel for our 3-night first visit to the city and the Renaissance turned out to be ideal. Two minutes from St Issac's Cathedral and an easy 10-15 minute walk from the Hermitage, Nevsky Prospeck, etc. All the usual amenities of an international hotel but small enough to provide high quality personal service. Friendly team of staff made us feel completely welcome and offered good guidance in English when we wanted it. Comfortable lounge area for hanging out in between trips. Excellent breakfast. Our room was well-equipped but didn't really have a view although that wasn't a problem as we were out most of the time. For us, it was an all-round good choice for a memorable stay in a great city.

The most amazing feature of this hotel was the excellent service, particularly at the front desk. We've received without asking or anything an upgrade to their absolute best duplex suites and an impeccable treatment all along the stay.
The neighborhood is not too far from the Hermitage but is quite worn out, but it's "interesting" to see let's say... The view from the terrace bar is great (yet the staff there is more than cold...)
A good option for the city, quite nice if not a bit old... During out stay the Romanov family were our neighbours next door (with their 15 bodyguards) so it seems to be quite a good reference! ;)
