“This is where life happens in SPB”
Reviewed 8 January 2014

I visited St Petersburg in September 2013. I enjoy walking in cities in which I travel for both exercise and the pleasure of seeing the sights and sounds of the city!

Nevsky Prospekt refers to a particular street in St Petersburg which is quite long, I think I must have walked at least 3 to 4 miles on each side of the road and contains many of the cities best hotels as well as restaurants, clubs and shops.

It takes on a different atmosphere at night with many of the historical buildings being beautifully lit which I found very delightful.

Didn't really do any serious shopping here as the prices are no where to be considered competitive when one lives in the USA!

The Metro runs several stations along this street so one is able to always return by another means if you exhaust yourself walking!

The side streets are also worth a mention as there are many restaurants and shops and things to see up and down the streets feeding off the Nevsky Prospekt.

“It's all here”
Reviewed 11 December 2013

One of the longest streets in the world, to many, Nevsky Prospekt IS St Petersburg.

From restaurants, to souvenir shops, to bars, to nightclubs, to historical sites, to both the metro and the central rail station, to hotels to beautiful bridges; everything you could want is here.

It is as amazing an experience both by day and by night but the absolute best time to be here is during the White Nights of june when never gets darkand there is a constant vibrancy amongst revellers!

“Lots of shops and restaurants”
Reviewed 18 November 2013

This is the main shopping street in St. Petersburg. It is very lively and has a number of restaurants and tourist attractions such as, The Singer House, Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan, Yeliseyevsky’s to name a few. Once you locate the street you can easily navigate your way around the city if you are walking or taking the metro to the attractions. We stopped in a few stores but the cost of the merchandise was extremely expensive.
