After reading the reviews i was quite apprehensive about staying in the hotel. However, believe me its not that bad.Yes, the rooms are very small, beds are not so comfortable but its location & courteous staff (especially "Dilyaara" to helped immensely) makes up for all the other things.I stayed there for 7 nights and it has some best of the restaurants, pubs, malls just across the road. I would recommend it to very body if they are in St Petersburg to explore and visit beautiful places.Double standard rooms & suites are much better.

Room Tip: Double Standard rooms & suites are much spacious

This was very depressive hotel. Tiny dirty room with paper walls and wooden floor common for more rooms, so any walk in any room around moved the floor in my room. There were two beds both somehow broken and not straigth. The matrace was full of any human liquids You can imagine and the sheet was not long enough to cover, also full of stains. Bathroom was covered with a layer of slime, so wherever I have been, only in this hotel I took shower fully dressed. It was also quite expensive - 5000 rubles per night. Breakfast just horrible, mildew sausages and so, eh. Ok for emergency one night stay, but if You can choose, choose another hotel.

Room Tip: There might be better rooms in that hotel, but definitelly not at 7th and 8th floor.

We booked a double room for about 140 dollars per night. The price is outrageous (to say the least) for the room of that size. That was the smallest room we ever stayed in. In fact it was so small, that there was no room for a TV which was attached to the wall just below the ceiling. The worst of all was the smell of tobacco. It was terrible.
IT IS A SHAME THIS HOTEL BEARS THE NAME OF RUSSIA.
Folks, spend your money elsewhere.
The only good thing I can say about this hotel is its location. It is not far from the airport and close to a Metro station.

I live in Moscow and stay in many hotels for work. After one night we left, despite having been booked for three, and checked into another hotel! We had surly reception, the elevator smelled of urine and had the business cards of ladies of a certain profession tucked into the frame. The carpets in the hallways were new and off-gassing, the room was tiny, with two very small old beds, a 12" TV with no English channels, except for CNN, but that had no sound! There were stains of cigarette burns in the basin and the carpet, nowhere to put cases, curtains that were very thin (most hotels in St Petes have black linings due to 'white nights', and even in May the dark is very short. Our interpreter had two separate people (with keys) enter her room during the night. Breakfast was the worst Russian institutional food. You can have a much better experience than this in Russia.

Room Tip: Double check a booking that someone else has made!

The great thing about this hotel is location. “Rossia” hotel is located in prestige and interesting district. Also it is easy to get to all tourist attractions in old city center due to metro neighborhood. Breakfast and service are good, especially if you are visitor from abroad :) So, I would recommend this hotel since it provides great value for its price.

sehr gutes und gepflegtes Hotel. kann man weiterempfehlen.
St.-Petersburg - the large historical and cultural center of the Europe which involves in itself sights of tourists and travellers. St.-Petersburg Hotels (in particular, Rossiya hotel), certainly, are that facade on which numerous visitors of northern capital make the first opinion on city. Especially last years when Petersburg triumphally celebrated the tercentenary, inflow of visitors to Petersburg has strongly increased. It has served as a powerful push to development of the hotel infrastructure, continuing to be improved and to this day. Now the doors for visitors of city have opened not less than eight four-stars hotels of St.-Petersburg both five grandee-hotels and great variety of three-stars hotels.

The hotel is 1.5 stars at best -- rooms are not clean, water smells funny, curtains are so thin that it is difficult to sleep, rooms not air conditioned so that we needed to leave the windows open and there were mosquitoes in the room, no internet access despite the hotel website's description (need to go to the business center and pay 100 rubles per hour, and the center closes at 9pm). The staff were very unfriendly; cannot get them to help us to, say, book concert tickets. They once called us at midnight and demanded us to go to front desk immediately to pay for a portion of the bill (telling them we were sleeping and asking if we could settle it the next day did no good). THe hotel is not even that cheap -- it costed 4400 rubles per night. We later moved out to a hotel at the city center, which is air-conditioned, has free wi-fi, clean rooms and very friendly staff, and only costs 400 rubles more per night. Trust me, you can find much better hotel rooms for about the same price at the city center.
