If you can find the entrance,it is not easy to find, you will push to buy audio guide. Please do not resist, even you have a human guide:I found this audio guide ,the best one I ever had in the museums overall.really there is not very significant object in the apartment but with their magnificent audio guide I felt myself in the middle of Pushkin's last days, walked with his family room by room.

Warning! This house-museum is NOT easy to find - there is no signage at the building's entrance nor is it indicated that one must go through the basement to get to the museum's reception and visitor's area!

But once through the hassle, one is rewarded at the rendering of the great poet's last days especially if one knows a bit of Pushkin's biography. The audio-guide is a wonderful piece of research that invites one to really look at the various objects in the various rooms. (It should be made a model for other house-museums.) At tour's end, one sheds a tear at the tragedy of a poet's life cut too short!

Great experience mainly because of the story behind. An audio guide is mandatory to experience this!

I have to admit, I didn't know much about Pushkin when I decided to visit this museum. I knew he was a poet and that he had died after a duel. That's it. But if that's all you know, this museum is still utterly fascinating. Situated in a quiet apartment block just off Nevsky Prospeckt, it's one of those places you can just wander through and contemplate what those walls saw and heard, the drama that transpired between husband and wife, poet and admirers, father and children. Like all of the best museums, personal effects abound from his wife's dressing table to his children's toys, to the leather couch where he breathed his last. It's all there in an incredible walk through time and history. The perfect place to visit if you want to avoid the crowds at the bigger sites and just soak up some history.

Ohh, it was terrible! The guide is bad as a Russian soup and the air is also that quality. We were interested in it at first, but all we heard there was about the death of Pushkin. Nothing about his life nor his work. Horrible!
