Very noisy.. I could hear when my neighbours were something connecting to AC plugs.. Staff was not bad.. except first day.. we arrived later, so was no choice in the restaurant for food, and all draft beer has gone..

The hotel arranged the travel documents for our Russian visa without delay and were very helpful during our stay. We were able to communicate in English with several of the staff. The hotel was conveniently located near the Komarov Botanical Institute where we were visiting and also near the Petrogradskaya metro station. On the weekend we easily traveled by metro to the Hermitage and other significant sites. There was a bank machine where you entered the front courtyard.

Our room was comfortable and clean but not as large or updated as might be expected for a 4 star hotel in other countries. We found the breakfast great - a Turkish-style breakfast of yogurt, goat cheese, hard boiled egg, olives and vegetables for me, granola and dried fruit for my husband and abundant coffee for both of us. We also ate dinner twice in the hotel restaurant and found the food quite good. It does close rather early so most evenings we visited nearby establishments.

We encountered no problems with security. There is a person at the front desk at all hours and also a person at the bar for at least the hours we were awake. The room doors double lock and there is a security guard where you enter the front courtyard from the street. We left our cell phones and computers in the room without concern. There is smoking in the bar area that is open to reception but not in the dining room. We found smoking in restaurants was common and for us problematic.

Staff very nice and helpful (the best feature of this hotel), breakfast can be improved, wi-fi OK, room was OK but you can hear your neighbours talk, and the air-conditioning is rather noisy. Beware: the closest metrò station (Petrogradskaya station) is shut down until November 15, 2013. The hotel offers a free shuttle to Gorkovskaya metrò station, morning until 10 and evening until 7, but if you miss it, you have to take a bus or a taxi.

Room Tip: The star-rating in Russia is different than in Europe, so don't expect too much from a 4 star ho...

It is not 4 star hotel as it's declared. Condition of rooms are satisfactory. Room service was ok. Laundry service is quite good. it seemed a little bit airless, but rooms equipped with noisy air-conditioner. Located not far from historical city center. 250-300 RUB by taxi or by city bus or subway.
The main frustration is security. I've heard that again several rooms were robbed during night on 23rd of may with sleeping people inside. I did not see any security personal and cameras....

Room Tip: Hotel has no any good scene from windows.

Located not so far from city center(Nevskiy Prospekt), just 2stops by metro. Single room with average size, maybe even a bit smaller than average but who is staying all day in hotel if you have so beutifull atractions in Petersburg(Ermitrage,Christ Blood Church,Isidor Church etc). Room clean, small TV available as well as AirConditioner. Unfortunately cant open window fully(because of curtain holder). Breakfast tasty and with good choice. What is very important price was reasonable especially when you compare to other overvalued very expensive hotels in St Pet-burg

Room Tip: unfortunately could hear neighbours noises in my room:(
