Reviewed 10 November 2012

Very professional and friendly crew. My requests were very well accommodated. The restaurant service has to be more flexible given that you have guests from different time zones and breakfast serving should be extended to 12.

Dear Mr Dobke,

Thank you very much for the review. We are happy you found your stay here to your convenience.
I have shared your comments with the team, so that they are aware of their contribution in helping to satisfy you and meet your expectations.

In relation to the breakfast hours, please let me mention that there are two options for breakfast available for our guests up to 12 pm: room service order and city breakfast menue in the bar. Please accept our apologies if these options were not clearly explained to you during your stay. We will also take this chance to think over our buffet breakfast hours even though there are certain operational constraints involved limiting our flexibility.

Thank you once again for such a kind review. We certainly look forward to welcoming you back in the very near future.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was ideal for sightseeing. If you arriving by train from Moscow then no need to get a taxi- it is 10 mins walk from the station and if your suitcase is on wheels it is easily doable.
Breakfast was included for us and well worth the money. There are however loads of cafes and bars just outside the hotel if you want to do your own thing. The Hotel is just of the main street that leads to the Hermitage. You can walk this in about 40 mins and it is womnderful- so much to see on the way and quite specatacular at night. If you want to get a taxi it is 300 roubles and just go outside on the road and get one.
There is a small bar in the hotel and very helpful staff. There is also a currency exchange shop and a concierge in the hotel who will book up any trip and recommend where to go.
The rooms are quite small and very little storage space but if you are on a short stay it is fine.

Dear Mrs Tomes,

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are happy to know you enjoyed our central location and services. Customer service is our top priority, and it is always great to hear our guests are happy with it.
We are though very sorry to know the room storage space was not to your expectations. Please let me mention that all our twin rooms and more than half of double rooms posess extra storage space for long staying guests. We will be very happy to offer you one of those rooms for your next visit.

Thank you once again for the kind comments, and we are sincerely looking forward to welcoming you back!

The hotel is in the city centre and close to the subway station, the way from the airport takes 20-30 min. I like the location, because it's very close to everything, but on quit street, surrounded by trees. The hotel is modern in nice-looking building (like Pisa tower), the room was not big, but well-decorated with bed and sofa. The staff on the reception were nice, polite and helpful, gave lots of advices where to go in the evening (lots of restaurants and bars are in few steps).

The hotel is ideally located right next to Nevsky Prospect (a block away), the main Saint Petersburg artery. If you like being right where everything is happening, it's the place to be. The hotel has two buildings connected through a bridge on the third floor. It's a bit on the expensive side as just about everything in Russia; it's pretty confortable though. The large room has all the necessary amenities for a nice stay; wi-fi is freely provided which is also a plus, as well as a few newspapers to take away (some in English) in the lobby. As in most Accor hotels breakfast is charged apart and it might be expensive; good TV programming in the room with a wide range of channels. You can walk from the hotel to most Saint Petersburg attractions; the Ermitage, Saint Petersburg's deservedly famous museum, is a 15-20 minute walk away from the hotel. The river channels and the beautiful Kazan Cathedral are even closer. Going in the other direction in Nevsky Prospect a shopping mall with a very nice supermarket on the lower level is only a block and a half away. So I would certainly recommend the Novotel Saint Petersburg.

Room Tip: Choose a room in building 1 if you can. It's closer to the reception.

We stayed here with a party from Riviera Travel. At first we were disappointed that we were assigned a room in the adjoining building but the room was spacious and the bathroom had a shower over the bath as well as a separate shower cubicle. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a good selection of both hot and cold food. In the evening the restaurant menu had a good choice and the food was tasty and well presented but the service tended to be slow. The central location just off the main street- Nevsky Prospect - was ideal and suprisingly quiet for such a busy area. We would be happy to stay here again if we went back to St Petersburg as independent travellers.
