It is a modern , Ikea style hotel room with all the amenities bordering onto luxury but not much else.
The room is comfortable, bed was good sized. mini bar was well stacked, the negative side was
bathroom door opened straight to the side of the bed. The hanging area was hidden .
Two towers, you had to find your way into the maize. service by front desk was good,
Two young front desk staff PYOMA and MAXIM were always ready to help and attentive
to all your needs.

We spent six nights in the hotel. Our room was comfortable and well-appointed, though not large. The only quibble I have is that the rail in the small hanging cupboard runs from front to back (not side to side) to save space - not my favourite configuration.

The bathroom made up for this, however, and the shower did not flood the floor, which is a very good thing.

Joy of joy our window opened. Be sure not to fall out if you follow our example.

The hotel restaurant is a prize-winning establishment. I had one meal there (other than breakfasts - see below) and was satisfied with the food, but it was hard to judge because I ordered a plain, non-Russian dish.

There was plenty to eat at breakfast, but be warned that when there is a coach party staying in the hotel it's difficult to find somewhere to sit! And the single toaster was *diabolical* - only one slot was working, and the machine took untold ages simply to warm the bread. I only once waited long enough for a real slice of toast. It seemed weird to me that a hotel of this standard should fail to have sufficient working equipment for the residents to make toast in the morning!

The hotel lifts, too, were inadequate. During our stay one of them was out of order for a couple of days. The other groaned and wheezed and jerked like an antique, and was slow and frequently over-crowded. There is another lift "around the corner", but an employee bellowed "Staff" at us when we tried to use it. (We used it anyway).

There are many good restaurants in the near vicinity of the hotel. But you have to be fit if you want to walk from the hotel to the main tourist sites. They are kilometres away, literally. Use the metro - it's cheap and easy.

The front of house staff were friendly and helpful - and I would especially commend the concierge, Maria, for her efforts to assist us.

Room Tip: Choose a room in the main building if you want to avoid having to hike to the restaurant.

Very convenient to Nevsky Prospekt. Staff at Reception and the concierge could not have been more friendly, helpful, and obliging. Breakfasts most generous which quite did away with the need for lunch. Rooms spotless, my only criticism would be the absence of drawers.

very nice rooms, amazing breakfast, good hospitality!
located in Nayvsky St. the main and beautiful street of St. Petersburg.
It is advised to take breakfast at the hotel, otherwise your are going to spend a lot of time waiting
to be served outside the hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights, at about $210/night; breakfast was abt $26 extra. This flat rate is pretty steep if all you want is 'continental' or similar.

The hotel is well located, being abt 200m walk to Nevsky Prospect, the major thoroughfare and a little more to the metro station.

Most staff have adequate English and the more senior ones understand what tourists need to know (a couple of junior staff struggled a bit to understand what we were getting at).

The bar in the main lobby is nice, although expensive and of course smoking is allowed; we got 'smoked out' once and had to abandon ship. The restaurant is very crowded in the mornings. We also had dinner there the first night and were pretty satisfied with it.

As others have commented, the room lay-out is not ideal, but we survived.

There are a number of good restaurants on nearby Nevsky Prospect - some require a bit of a walk. Its nearly always busy with traffic and pedestrians, so we had no security concerns when walking back at night.

Overall, we'd stay again.

Dear Guest!

Thank you so much for this awesome review. It is very nice to read your good comments about our staff and to know that you were satisfied with the dinner in our restaurant. I am sorry that smoke at the lobby did not let you to enjoy our Novotelcafé and its wide variety of drinks and snacks. Very likely next year new law against smoking in hotels will be implemented in Russia.

I hope we will have the opportunity to see you again in the near future, and I encourage you to spend more time in our great city during your next trip.

Best regards,
Afanasyeva Natalia,

Visited recently for four nights and like other travellers, we were accommodated in the second building, so we did feel a little removed from the main building. However, our room was very clean and fresh and the location of the hotel was excellent and very central. Breakfast offered a full range of food with everything from savoury to sweet things - excellent! Otherwise it is advisable to eat elsewhere in the evenings - lots of choice along the Nevsky Prospekt. So in conclusion, a good, simple, clean hotel in a central location.

This hotel was located in a very quiet area about l l/2 blocks from the main street. We were put in the annex and felt very isolated from the main hotel However, each time we went to the main lobby there wasn't much happening there, either. Our room was fine, but there was no outlet in the bathroom for a curling iron. I ended up using the outlet next to the tv and using the blank tv screen for a mirror. Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room spacious. Originally, our tour group was scheduled to stay at The Crowne Plaza and some said that it was a much nicer and better located hotel. Quite a long hike to The Hermitage, but do able on a nice day.

Room Tip: Try to stay in the main hotel and not the annex.
