The location is convenient and the staff are very friendly and very accommodating. Although the hotel itself does not leave a very good impression especially considering its cost. It occupies the lower level of the old apartment building which is located behind a few other old apartment buildings. The rooms are nicely decorated however are very small and there is no air conditioner. The continental breakfast is served into the room every morning since the hotel does not have a restaurant, although the food is tasteless and the croissants are in the sealed packages, not freshly baked.
I will not give this hotel my preference in the future.

I loved this place. The building and rooms were old and romantic, but done up really nicely. The staff were lovely and had great English. I liked having breakfast in bed everyday. It was nice and warm, as was the shower. It was about a 10 minute walk to the mid-section of Nevsky Prospect. Only downside is it is a bit far from the subway, but you really want to walk as much as possible in St Petersburg anyway.

Nice hotel in courtyard so away from the noise of the city. Some good restaurants nearby. Wifi is okay but not the best. The only down side is the breakfast which is served to your room in the morning and invariably Luke warm to cold and you have to eat it at a small coffee table in your room. And the hotel staff are good but are not that good at English.

We spent 5 nights in the hotel. It is within easy walking distance of Nevsky Prospect and the Hermitage, but a little far from the Mariinsky theatre. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and well looked after. Our room was rather hot though. Some of the staff aren't knowledgeable about local restaurants, but all are helpful with tourist sites and travel arrangements. A good mid-range choice.

Would not recommend this "hotel." The hotel was clean and the breakfast good...the location is mixed...it is a relatively good walk from many of the sites in St. Petersburg, but the area is not one that has many tourists.

On two separate occasions, I returned from work to discover that my room had been unlocked by staff...this was a little disconcerning. As well, the walls of the rooms are paper-thin...the room next door had a piano, with guests who liked pounding on the keyboard for extended periods of time...no assistance from the front-desk.

No mini-bar, English-TV, breakfast room or other amenities one would expect.

Be patient to find the hotel, even my driver with the address was getting very frustrated in finding this well-hidden building.

Would stay somewhere closer to Nevsky Prospekt if I was to return to St. Petersburg.

Walking through the courtyard where this hotel is hidden, and finding a locked door with a bell, I started to doubt my choice (and tripadvisor). But inside, it was excellent. Friendly staff with decent English, big immaculate room (junior suite), good bathroom, and a huge breakfast served in the room at the time requested, and with a smile. It's also quiet, so it's not a problem for those of us that like to sleep with the window open a bit.

As an independant traveller, getting Russian visas is a bit of a chore, as you need an invitation from a Russian travel agent. The hotel arranged all of this, along with an airport pickup and some tours. Made it easy.

It's a comfortable walk to many of the major St P tourist attractions (Hermitage, Russian Museum, gardens), small shops and and local restaurants. It's a bit of a hike to the Metro.

No big lobbies, bar and dining rooms, but with a nice place like this, who cares?
