The hotel is very well located, just a block from the metro station and a couple of very long blocks from Nevsky Prospekt. The hotel is very modern. Our room was incredibly comfortable, really huge with lots of space to move around. It really looked like a room in a luxury hotel. It has a minibar and safe to store your valuables. The bathroom is very modern too. It was a shower, hair dryer and towel warmer.
However, there are a couple of issues to consider. First, there's no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up a couple of floors to the lobby and then to your room. Of course they have someone available to help you with that if you ask. The second issue was that on our first day we had issues with the hot water in the shower. The first time they fixed it promplty and the second they told us it had been a problem for all the hotel so I don't know if it was their fault or the city's but after that we didn't have any more problems. I don't know if it's a recurring issue or not but since it happened to us I just thought I mentioned it.
The breakfast buffet is very good. The lady at the reception is super kind and will help you with directions or anything you need. She speaks very good English and Spanish. Computers with Internet access are available for an extra cost.
If you don't mind the lack of elevator this hotel is a great choice. We really enjoyed our stay here because the room was so nice, I highly recommend it because the rooms are really excellent.

Out of many hotels that I had researched prior to my visit, 5th Corner seemed like the best option. Not too expensive, and the location was great. Very near the metro station, easy to find. Very close to Nevskiy prospekt and about 20 minutes walk away from Hermitage. The train station for services to Tsarskoye Selo is also nearby. The reception is located on the 1st floor, with very friendly staff, who spoke english well. The check-in process was fast and I was given a very nice Comfort twin room on the highest floor with large roof windows and a flat screen TV. I was impressed with the size of the room, it was definitely way above the standard size rooms. The room was very spacious with 2 beds that could be pushed apart. Bathroom also very large and clean. The breakfast was generous. Free wifi is avalaible in rooms. The hotel provides visa support documents (for a small fee) on request. And what I really like about this hotel that the management does read the reviews and replies to them, they are open to suggestions and appreciate their guests. This hotel is definitely worth more than 3 stars and I would definitely stay again.

The 5th Corner Hotel was a real surprise- a very pleasant surprise! We were staying in St Petersburg for 4 days so it's location was very convenient- close to Metro and a 10 min walk to Nevsky Pr. We were in a corner room that had just been refurbished and was spacious, quiet and comfortable, the breakfast was great too. We found the staff to be friendly and very helpful, and they all spoke English which helped a lot. It's a little confusing to find the entrance, but it's located through the main entrance for the Restaurant, just look for the orange flag.

The hotel is near a metrostation. It is on the thirth floor of a nice building. The rooms are big anough. There is free internet for your laptop. A good braekfastbuffet is served in the restaurant beneath the hotel. Ther are many nice restaurants in the nabour.
Our camera was stolen. The salesmanager Aleksey Karpov arranged that the officemanager, we forgot her name, went with us to the police and arranged everything for us. She spoke very good English and even gave her photocamera to us, so we could make some pictures of Sint Petersburg.
All with all, a very nice stay and we sureley want to go back.

Thanks so much for your kind words.
We were disapointed that your camera was stallen on the street. Unfortunately, such things can happen on street, but not in hotel - we are concerned about our guests safety I hope, there are some photos you could leave to yourself in memory of visiting our city!
We are all looking forward to welcoming you back to our hotel!

The hotel is located within a 5 minute walk of two metro stations. While there are not a lot of important sites in the neighborhood, the metro will get you to them in a hurry. Trains leave every 2 1/2 minutes. The decoration of the area where the platforms are is worth a trip in itself. The only place you will find something as beautiful and interesting as the St Petersburg metro stations are the ones in Moscow.

Both the rooms and the rest of the hotel appear to have been remodeled very recently. There are nice areas on both floors where you can read or chat if you want to get out of your room and don't feel like sightseeing.

There are several good restaurants in the area as well as the hotel's restaurant. For great fast food, try the Teremok housed in a kiosk between the two metro stations. They have blini of all kinds made fresh as you stand there and their own kvas and mors, two traditional Russian drinks you should definitely try.

The only things I would change are to add an elevator and improve the signage. Reception is on the 3d floor and the flights are fairly long. I was, however, helped with my luggage when I left. The signs identifying the hotel and the entrance itself are not all that obvious, and in the case of the signs, that easy to recognize as being for the hotel. Since there is a big "5 Corners" sign across the street, it is easy to get confused. At least I was ;-)

HIghly recommended.
