Stayed for 5 nights while visiting St Petersburg.
Perhaps the biggest plus for this hotel is its convenient within-walking distance location facing Palace Square and the Winter Palace/Hermitage. It is also close to St. Isaac's Cathedral, metro stations, Nevsky Prospekt, great restaurants and the river. Yet, it is in a quite neighborhood to allow privacy and good sleep.
The hotel combines historic elegance with Kempinski luxury. It offers a welcoming ambience and very friendly service. From our suite, the views were good - a plus, given we stayed in June, the month of very long days. Every evening, the service team left a treat - a tray of chocolates to fruits. The broadband internet was free and worked flawlessly.
The breakfast buffet was served in the restaurant on the lobby floor. It offered extensive choices, all fresh and flavorful, and included Russian delicacies.
The spa and exercise room is located on the top floor, and was difficult to find the first time - as you must step out of the hotel corridor, then walk upstairs. The spa is small, average, offers a few lockers, and a friendly reception.
As with other Kempinski worldwide properties, the concierge desk was very helpful, prompt and followed up after any arrangements they made.
The biggest feature of hotel is its very convenient, private, safe, central, friendly location. Perfect for enjoying and experiencing the arts, culture and history of St Petersburg.More
