“Very nice experience - Like feeling at home!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2013

I start by saying that find a good place to stay in St. Petersburg is a difficult undertaking, so Amulet hotel definitely wins for value / price / location. The hotel's location is excellent, attached to a central metro station and very close to the Hermitage and the prospect Nievski. The room and bathroom are very clean and the towels were changed every day, it is also worth mentioning that the bathroom had a huge and gorgeous shower! The room is a bit "old style" and small but livable. The nice thing is that the breakfast is included and every evening is asked to choose what you want for breakfast the next morning, you can choose between fried eggs, cereals, pancakes sweet or salty (which they call pancakes, but they are not the pancakes American classics) and everything is freshly cooked in the morning in front of you.
As I noticed the staff was all female and all the girls were always very polite, one girl in particular helped me to book on internet tickets for the train to Moscow, and being the site entirely in the Russian his help was crucial!
The atmosphere is very "home" style and welcoming.

In generale l'atmosfera è molto "casa" e accogliente.

This location for a reasonably priced place was incredible. Close to sights and metro. They arranged taxi's, luggage store, breakfast earlier than scheduled on the morning of the St Petersburg marathon - very helpful. The rooms themselves were basic and quite small - but sufficed for our purposes - if a little noisy. The lift wasn't working - but its only one flight of stairs.
Good choice if you are there for a short visit and want a central place with no bells and whistles.

Room Tip: go as far from reception as you can - fewer people walking past and you wont hear breakfast - there...

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights recently it is the perfect location for the main attractions of St Petersburg. A modest clean comfortable commercial hotel 50 metres from the newly opened metro station with female English speaking students employed as receptionists. Malaya Morskaya is a great street for reasonably priced retaurants and directly next door is the best coffee and bakery shop I have come across. Perhaps the most popular in St Petersburg with a wonderful choice of cakes and baguettes. Staff even speak english. Starbucks eat your heart out you don't compete.

Amulet is perfectly located in the center of the city, 5 min walking from the main tourist attractions and 2 min from newly opened metro station.
Every time I'm in Petersburg (1-3 times a year), I try to stay at this hotel, which is not easy in high season giving it only has seven rooms. Excellent service and the best value for this money.
Also Amulet is basically a big apartment in an old house, which has some special charm. And thanks to the girls working there you always feel welcome.

We just fished our stay of 6 nights at the Amulet Hotel in St Petersburg. The hotel is in an excellant location about 1 block from Nevsky Prospect, 3 blocks from the Hermitage and 4 blocks from St Issac's Cathederal. It is in easy walking distnace of most of the major sights. The hotel occupies 7 rooms on the second floor of a building. The rooms are basic. The shower is excellant. The breakfast is good as each night you select from 5 options and the time you want to eat. The desk is staffed by college students who speak English and are very helpful. If you want a good value in an excellant location I would recommend this hotel.
