My wife and I travel extensively and we won't hesitate to highly recommend the Pushka Inn. It is very centally located on one of the canals in the downtown area about a 5 minute walk from the Hermitage. The rooms, while not very large are very adequate for Russian standards. I would, however, book a room facing the courtyard, as noise from the canal at night may bother some people. A very big plus is the hotel's restaurant which serves excellent dinners at a very reasonable price. I'm leaving the best to last, which is the excellent service that was provided to us during our five night stay. All the staff at the desk were very friendly and bent over backwards to ensure that our stay was an enjoyable one. I have to particularly mention Julia who went out of her way to ensure our train reservations to Moscow were in order etc. Thank you Pushka Inn for a GREAT stay in a very beautiful city.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the courtyard are more quiet than those facing the canal.

This hotel is very well located -- a very short walk from the Winter Palace, Church of Spilt Blood, and Nevsky Prospect and directly on the Moika river. In fact, its location is perfect. The room is comfortable and relatively modern but this is not a luxurious hotel. It is relatively modest. The loud commentary on the passing boats at night could pose a problem for some, and at first it was disconcerting, but we managed just fine. The resturant next door was very good with traditional Russian dishes (enjoyed the borscht and Beef Stroganoff). Breakfast was a fairly basic buffet, nothing fancy. The hotel staff were exceptional and even arranges our airport transfers. Overall, this hotel was as advertised and an excellent choice for St. Petersburg.

It doesn’t always happen that a hotel turns out to be as good as – even better than – its favourable reviews, but Pushka Inn is justifiably TripAdvisor’s #1 hotel in St Petersburg.
It won’t appeal to the more demanding travellers who want a big, luxurious and impersonal hotel that caters to every whim. But it will be an absolute delight to those who prefer a small, simple, comfortable hotel with character and charm, run by very friendly, helpful and professional staff. Add to all that the next-door hotel restaurant and one of the best locations in the city, and this is an almost perfect hotel.

We stayed for five nights in a pleasant, spacious room overlooking the river. In peak tourist season the constant passing of sightseeing boats, with amplified commentary, does create a noise hazard until around 11pm. We were amused rather than bothered by it, but others might be advised to ask for a room at the back of the hotel.

The restaurant provided a hearty buffet breakfast with limited, unvarying hot dishes (porridge, scrambled eggs and crepes) and an interesting dinner menu. We chose to eat there every night and though the service was a bit haphazard, the food was generally pretty good – particularly the Russian specialities such as pelmeni and crepes with caviar and sour cream.

But the best feature of Pushka Inn was the staff, who were young, cheerful, incredibly helpful and quite fluent in English. They provided information and made tour bookings for us in advance of our stay, organised transfers from the train station and to the airport, and solved our problems with printing airline boarding passes before we left. The welcoming atmosphere and deservedly high reputation of the hotel are largely due to them!

Room Tip: If noise bothers you, don't take a water-view front room.

The staff of Pushka inn bent over backwards to make our stay wonderful. They set us up with a phenomenal tour guide Tatiana. Location, location, location, close to cathedrals, the Hermitage, dining, and river tours. Excellent breakfast with a wide variety of Russian favorites and American choices. The only downside is the room safe that is too small for an iPad.
Would definitely recommend to families, couples, and solos.

Room Tip: We liked being in the more economical room with a view of inner courtyard. The boat rides until 4 a...

Really cosy hotel in the very heard of the city center, nice rooms, good breakfast. Best value for the money. Free Wi-Fi, good speed. Staf is friendly and helpful. My husband and I already staid twice here. The only disadvantage could be tiny elevator.

Perfectly located for the main sights of St Petersburg.
In advance the staff helped us to arrange our visa as we were travelling independently, as well as organising an airport pick up.
Breakfast is served in the adjoining restaurant and is fine. Our room was clean & spacious & the view across the river tremendous.
Staff were always helpful & English was spoken by all.
Since staying here, I have confidently recommended Pushka Inn to a number of people.

We stayed at the Pushka Inn over Christmas and we had the 3 bedrooms suite. It was very nice! The suite was compose by 2 bathrooms, a small kitchen, a living room/dining room and 3 nice bedrooms. The staff is very good and very helpful and helped us to go through the city. They also advise us on train/bus to go to Catherine Palace outside the city.
