Description: «Kyoto» is a piece of Japan in Eastern Siberia. The small cosy hall will transport you from the whirlpool of immemorial vanity to the world of the most ancient Japanese traditions, where refined east style reigns. The interior is modesty and reflects the best tradition of the East. Irkutsk people had known about Japanese cuisine only when restaurant “Kyoto” was open. It was the first Japanese restaurant in the city. According to guests comments “Kyoto” is the most delicious Japanese restaurant in Irkutsk. There are four halls: the smoking big one, non-smoking small one and two tatami-zones (the first is for 6 persons and the second is for 8 persons). From May till September the summer garden is open It is the restaurant’s pride and the most beautiful place in Irkutsk center. The average bill is 1 500 rubles.

“A touch of Irkutsk in Japanese cuisine”
Reviewed 6 January 2014

We tried a dinner at Kyoto because we love Japanese food and it was at our hotel (Sayen). Atmosphere was nice and confortable, service was attentive and food well prepared. We tried sushi with Omul caviar, a speciality that you can find only in Irkutsk. The fried pineapple dessert was nice too. Price range of 25 EUR per person.

“Lunch break”
Reviewed 15 August 2013

after checking in and a small nap to recover from the trip, i wanted to have some tasty light food before starting my work day and meetings - Kyoto is a perfect place for that - calm atmosphere, very tasty sushi and rolls - good choice of tea - wi-fi!

i recommend.

Thanks.

“Very nice Japanese food, indoor smoking can be an issue”
Reviewed 25 March 2013

We enjoyed the break from Russian train fare and thought the quality of the food was excellent. Service was passable, but the thing that did annoy us were people who were smoking inside. Oh well, that's local rules of course. All the Japanese staples were good, but especially enjoyed the sashimi.
