Quick Bites is the latest restaurant of the Intercontinental Hotel in Al-Khobar. They had their soft opening during the last quarter of 2011 and I have been taking Thursday lunches there a couple of times since. The interior is a modernized diner in immaculate white with glass and blue-tiled walls. There are three seating sections. From the left where the cashier stands to take your order, each cooking section is arrayed from left to right: Asian, Italian and Middle Eastern food. There are a variety of muffin choices, sweets, coffee and teas. There is also an outside seating area for those who prefer to enjoy cooler temperatures during the colder months.
They have a lot of quick meals to choose from. I have tried their beef noodles twice, shrimp noodles, and the sushi set, which was really good. My latest was a plate of bolognese pasta done perfectly (just the right tanginess from the tomato sauce). Presentation is carefully thought out, perhaps an IHG standard which adds enjoyment in eating. Basant, their Nepali cashier, is very attentive and provides an excellent welcome to their guest. Clientele has grown significantly during weekdays over the short period since it opened, most of whom are office employees from the surrounding areas.
I never got tired of the food and place, and I also have started introducing this restaurant to a couple of my friends. Prices are very affordable.
