We came here for a buffet with some friends during the Canton Fair and it was spectacular. The spread was very good and the quality of the meat was very good (hard in china). The staff were very attentive and always cleared the plates and refilled drinks. This is a great hotel to take friends if in Guangzhou for business or leisure. Excellent outdoor seating.

In pratically most of the high end Chinese hotels there are these sort of western-asian cafes' offering an unbelievable long array of food ranging from salads (dozens of type of veggies will await you ) til Chinese made to order soups, passing through Japanese delicacies , Italian pasta station , grills, and some ten meters of cooking stations where you can pick up any dish warm or cold (fish ,meat in dozens of options ) freshly made or just made as per your wish not to mention the dessert , for those addicted to sweet delicacy .
Ambience and decoration elegantly contemporary as you could expect from Shangri La , with large open windows looking on the river side and with possibility to eat outdoor as well
Yes it is mainly a buffet ( there is also the option to order a la carte but makes little sense here ) therefore not an intimate place for romantic dinner but being 360 degrees cooking , it offers to anybody the possibility to have his tastebud satisfied
Sometime when busy service ( drinks ) can be approximate but this is something you quickly get used travelling to mainland China
Not cheap for Chinese standards still worthy remarkably if you are hungry

The very best buffet I have had in this city.....the food was the highest quality with great choices of many types.....they had seafood, including Sushi, italian, Barbeque, Chinese dim sum, vegetables and a desert station.....they had many other choices that were too numerous to mention. The restaurant is an excellent choice to entertain during expositions across the stree from the Canton Fair.

Took a client here for lunch to get away from the hustle and bustle of Canton Fair and the atmosphere was calm and a lovely contrats from the fair
Decor is nice tables set well apart and comfortable. However the service was poor and the staff not as well trained as you would expect for a 6 star hotel in the Far East
Food was OK not bad not good simply satsifactory
