Description: Before 2006 it was extremely difficult for people traveling to Guangzhou to find reliable western restaurants, let alone Italian restaurants. This gave us the idea to create Buongiorno, that we opened in August of 2006. It was a huge success from the very beginning. Since the early start we have been very dedicated to bring authentic Italian flavours to the heart of China, attracting the interest of local and foreign clientele. We are driven by passion and guided by tradition. Our dishes are prepared with the highest quality ingredients and a fine balance of flavors; we strive hard for excellent taste and to serve you authentic italian cuisine. Our Executive Chef Massimo Canzian personally sources and grades our top-quality imports from Italy and works along our staff, who is constantly trained and very knowledgeable about Italian food and wine. We are here to warmly welcome you and deliver a memorable, rich experience each and every time you visit.

We went as recommended by the hotel but the location - in a shopping mall- and the atmosphere - like a airport coffee shop- gave us such a negative impression that we did not even sit in our booked table.

We found this place is year and it saved us from another Big Mac meal! Having a hard time eating in Guangzhou (I like western food much and always had hard time to find such food there), we were happy to find this place.

It is a real authentic Italien restaurant. We found the prices a bit overpriced but that is the price to pay to eat such food in Guangzhou. Everything we had was great and we would recommend this restaurant to any western visitor.

We enjoyed our dinner and food quality.

This is very close To The Garden Hotel, on this trip i eat there 3 of 4 dinners. Whatever you choose To eat you Will be satisfied, The Pasta and pizza is like beeing in Italy. The service fr.o.m. Chinese waiters leave more To whish, but if they Will be better imaginära how could it could be. The most important People after The chefs must by Managers/owners Matteo & Alex. They are really good To let everyone feel welcomed To them. And they always Will arrange a table even it takes som time.

Occasionally restaurants get reviews that can mystify. There are a number of good reviews on here for this restaurant and they genuinely do not stack up with the experience we had. A group of us went to the restaurant without a booking and waited at reception to be completely ignored by the owner for more than 10 minutes and , only as we decided to leave, did he reluctantly come over and offer us a table ( a number were free). I don't think I have met a restaurant owner who was so disdainful towards guests. We have eaten in this restaurant many times before and it used to be the go-to restaurant when we stayed there. How it has fallen! The prices have escalated enormously even though it was expensive before but , when the food does not even remotely match up to the prices, there is a problem. Sparrow-like quantities and a long wait for it at that. Despite there being No Smoking signs up Italian customers openly flouted the ruling and, following a complaint from our party, the staff reluctantly asked the smokers to stop. The result was the smokers arrogantly removed the No Smoking signs near them and continued smoking. So we are sitting in a restaurant full of smug ignorant smokers and , worse,, smug ignorant owners and staff. If anybody who is non- Italian goes to this restaurant you need your head examined . At one time there was not much competition in the area but there are restaurants around this place that knock spots off it that will be a quarter of the price. Give it a miss is my advice and go to Chez Max just round the corner for good service and quality food.

Have to say its worth the trip just to watch the Maître D work the room. If you don't have a reservation be prepared to wait at the peak hours.
First time ever seeing lasagna without any type of tomato sauce.
A good choice when you don't want Chinese food. But have to say we had better meals at Oggi.
