Review of Luhu Park

Luhu Park

Don't get me wrong, this is a great little find, if you happen to stumble on it on the north reaches of guangzhou (next to guangzhou art museum) and there is a beautiful walk around path, but this park is a classic relic left over from the guangzhou renovations of the early 90s. Which means there is lettle if any new playground equipment, and a hoard of dilapidated fiberglass duck boats… but the rest is overgrown vegetation. That being said, it offers a great quiet getaway from the bustle of Guangzhou, with out needing to get away at all. Very convenient transpiration, and a great set of high end restaurants are the market features of the north water line. Great for an evening dinner and stroll. Very near to the Luhu Golf Resort.

Liked: central location, nice scenery, peaceful, water theme typical of Chinese public parks.
Dislike: a bit too standard, nothing outstanding, just OK.
Still would recommend for a quick stroll on an evening nearby Zhongshan mausoleum.

Get a chance to see this fantastic city park? Do it! There walking trails, boats rides, serene hide-a-ways, a bamboo forest walk, the National Art Museum, a golf course, Baiyun Mountain entry is right nearby, public transit is plentiful, ride your bike or rent one.

Lu hu Park is a hoot - check it out!

This park has no entrance fee. The path is clean and well taken care of. The view is about lakes and trees. Nothing very special, but nice for breathing fresh air and relaxing or jogging. I walked from Baiyun Yuntai Garden, thru Luhu Park, and ended at Yuexiu Park to spend a day. Nice if you are not into crowds or too touristic places. I saw many old people do fishing on the lake side. Some were just playing cards or mahjong under the trees.

If you already visited other places in GZ, and just want to spend some time to walk or relax, for free, then this can be an option.

Having the traditional chinese "morning tea" at one of the restaurant in LuhuPark was a pleasant experience. Looking at the lake , water lily was the best view while having traditional chinese tea session.
