Q-City Hotel
Ranked #1,184 of 3,522 Hotels in Guangzhou
Reviewed 8 November 2011

I stayed at the Q-City Hotel for 8 nights & my stay there were pleasant. There were 2 TVs, sofa, safe, basic toiletries, free bottled drinks (replenished every day), fridge & free cabled internet in the room. You can cook too though I'm not too sure about getting the pots etc since I didn't ask for it. The bed & pillows are soft and clean. The staff were nice too since I had issues with safe when i went. However, due to the fact that there is a club at the ground level, I could hear the music at night even though i was on the 7th floor (703 was my room number) The music wasn't loud but i could hear the thumping noise.

As for the location, it is conveniently located at the Yuexiu district, Yuexiu Park Station. The nearest Exit (E) is about 10min away. However, as I was pretty tired of walking up the stairs at times (& taking my heavy luggage when I reached), I exited from Exit (D1) with the escalator and walked a little bit of distance (probably just 5mins more!). Exit (D1) comes out at China Hotel on the left. just turn left & walked towards the starbucks and continue to walk along the way will get you to the hotel. In between, you will pass by exit (E) and one of the tourist attraction, Western Nanyue Museum. Also, the airport bus will stop at one of the exits, which is not near Dongfang Hotel at all even though it is stated as Dongfang Hotel as the stop. So you could enter the exit and find for exit (E) or (D1). fyi, you can't walk to exit A & E if you are at exit B,C & D. you need to get into the platform to do so, otherwise, you need to walk through from the main street.

As for the F&B nearby, there's quite a few around. McDonalds and Starbucks is about 15min walk away (near China Hotel & Dongfang Hotel, which is at exit D1). The Japanese food opposite serves great & affordable japanese cuisine. However, if i never remember wrongly, the menu is in chinese only. there's also another chinese restaurant which serves great porridge with their specialty, live fishes. There are also 7-11 right at the hotel lobby area (besides the club). Pretty good 7-11 since I bought my drinks & snacks there, as well as the MRT card - Lingnan Tong or Yang Cheng Tong. It is like the Hong Kong's Octopus Card. The MRT card is not sold at the service counters at the stations but at selected 7-11, Tian Tian Laundry and their appointed agents.

Overall, my stay at Q-City Hotel is pleasant. I had good rest almost every night even though I could hear bits & pieces of the thumping music from the club.

Room Tip: There's a club on the ground floor hence choose higher floors and NOT get rooms with numbers 03...

In the hotel web site, they mentioned that they have a spa and a gym; when I got there, I discovered that they have neither. Hotel Check in and Check out too slow. Room are ok but badly finsihed.

If you long for a soft comfortable, non Chinese bed then this is your hotel. Great rates as well. We took the the airport shuttle express bus #(5) to the Dongfong hotel (second stop). the shuttle will cost $17rmb/person. When you get off the bus go down into the metro and just go out the exit (E). When you come out you will be at a restaurant called "a thousand and one nights". Take a right and got to the next intersection and that will be Panfu Lu. Just stay on the sidewalk do not cross road the sidewalk will curve and you will see a 7 eleven on your right and the hotel is on your right on the corner.
This hotel is nice, clean and very modern with very comfortable soft beds. We were upgraded from a standard room to a deluxe. We had 2 tv's in the room with a living room. There was a stove, refrigerator and water kettle. Bathroom was nice size with an on demand water heater which you could adjust to your preface. Shower was big and had a clothes line in it. The reception spoke fairly good English and was very helpful. This hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from star bucks and mc Donalds. They give you 2 bottles of complimentary water daily. The room didn't have a hair dryer but we called down and they sent one within minutes. There is no wifi in the rooms but there is dsl hookup. We used a prattle wifi modem which worked fine. The rooms have individually controlled air conditioning. The rooms have alot of storage space and also has a in room safe. This hotel was quite of a morning and night.

After four hotels here, we have finally found a hotel with an amazingly comfortable bed!!
Perfect location, very central, the Q City hotel is just what the chiropractor ordered! Trendy decor, very clean, great service and well equipped, I can only congratulate the management here at this establishment. Our delux room was like an apartment, great kitchen, two flat screen TVs and comfy leather couch. View to city was a bonus and location close to the superb Memorial Yat hall. If you are here in Guangzhou to do business, this is a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle in the trading malls. Hot, hot showers, I can't explain how relieved we were to find such a well priced hotel in the heart of it all.

Room Tip: Used Agoda and got a free upgrade.
