My husband and I travelled here from Hong Kong by taking the ferry from the china ferry terminal in TST to Panyu. This is a 2 hour ferry journey and was quite pleasant. When you arrive at the ferry port there are various free shuttle buses to different hotels in the area. We got on the one to Chime Long and it took around 40 minutes with one other hotel drop off on the way. First impression of hotel - oh my god!!! its massive. The hotel is probabably one of the biggest i have ever been in and ive been in some pretty big hotels in las vegas. Must be over 5000 rooms. Check in was fast and we also picked up our theme park tickets from a desk in the lobby and that was quick too. It was a looooooong walk from lobby to our room but it was fine. The room itself was a plaza room. Quite large, comfy bed and nice bathroom. The only thing I thought was bad about the room was that it had a tiny balcony. No room for seats - only room enough to stand. I just dont see the point of balconies like that - either make it big enough to sit out on or dont bother!!!
First night in the hotel we went around all the bars and restauants and were a little disappointed. We are westerners so kind of need bars/entertainment/beer in the evenings or we get a bit bored. The only decent bar is the lobby bar and only because they serve ice cold tiger beer and you get to sit and watch the gorgeous white tigers play about on the other side of the window. Food options are ok - we ate in the japanese restaurant one night and just ended up having a sandwich in the bar the second night. We are not fussy eaters but we just didnt think the dining options were all that great and the bars lacked atmosphere.
The theme parks were fantastic. The water park was within a couple of minutes walking distance (there is a hotel guest only entrance). All the rides are great - comparable, if not better than any water park i have been to in America (Wet and Wile/Disney). Queues were not too long. The park is open till 10pm but unfortunately the day we went there was a thunderstorm so we had to leave at around 5.30 as all the rides closed down. The second day we went to the theme park (paradise). Rides are good but the queues were quite long. The park seemed to be fairly empty but the queue for the 10 loop roller coaster took around 1 hour. Their queue management is not great. The roller coaster type rides have 2 cars that they can send around which would mean there would be less queue but for whatever reason, they choose to only operate one car and that means big queues which are not pleasant in the heat. There was one ride which was shut down for maintenance which was disappointing and we also didnt have time to see the live action stunt show which looked good. We had to leave the park early so we could get the 5pm shuttle back to the ferry port for the 6pm ferry back to Hong Kong. All in all, great weekend away from HK and would definately go again.

It is an excellent eco friendly hotel. The best theme park in China is just 100 mtrs from the hotel lobby and a wonderful safari park is just 4 mins drive from hotel. Hotel has around 10 white tigers, 2 lions and some rare birds inside hotel compound. The snow tiger lobby bar is an excellent place where you can sip some wonderful spirits while hearing good live music and watching snow tigers walking around. It was an unforgettable experience. The breakfast was fabulous. I loved the stay at this hotel.

It was my first stay at the Chime Long Hotel (new wing).
The hotel was just having its soft opening by the time I stayed there. The entrance and the lobby were very nicely decorated with laser lights shining over the animals sculture on the roof of the lobby counter. The first impression was : WOW!
The room I stayed was the Safari Room. Huge, with large balcony. The bed was soft, clean and comfortable. The bathroom is very impressive, with rainshower facility and a bath tub, so one can choose between having a refreshing shower or a relaxing bath! Outside the bathroom, there was a changing area (instead of a wardrobe) too!

The next morning we took the glass window lift to the ground floor restaurant for breakfast, just when we were looking out at the garden, we saw something moving. It was indeed a WHITE TIGER taking a stroll in the garden! The hotel reared 4-5 WHITE TIGERS in the garden next to the lobby, and the only separation is just one layer of glass. Sounds dangerous, but it is certainly very exciting to have white tigers so near to you!

The hotel also had lions just outside the restaurant, separated by a glass.

The hotel has so many "wild" animals so I actually think that it is already fascinating just to stay at the hotel. There is no need to go to the zoo nearby to see the animals.

Overall, the stay is excellent, provided that you are not very concerned about the safety of wild animals runny free in the gardens next to the lobby and the restaurant.

You can find different restaurant there: japonese, western, gril, ocean food...etc. The hotel is clean and have many option for family and for business people. Very complete: sauna, massage room, beauty room, business room, recreation and etc.
Besides, you can also enjoy the park on its complex and for business it's only 15 minutes from Pazhou complex...really great!

Stayed here with a business colleague in May 2008. Hotel was booked by a Chinese business colleague who also stayed here with us.
The room was damp and fusty. The bar and restaurant areas were dead. I have stayed in many hotels in China and am used to the, sometimes, vocally challenged musical acts but the Phillipino band playing were truely awful.
There where what seemed to be industrial strength mosquito repellent devices plugged into the wall and in fairness they did work.
On the plus side the design of the hotel is quite qwerky with tigers and flamingos in enclosures within the hotel. But not really to my taste.
The only reason we stayed her is because it was close to the factory we were visiting, but next time I'll put up with a longer drive and stay somewhere different.

basically the hotel is good. Location, food and service - good. The only problem is the package that we've got from trip advisor which supposedly include hotel + breakfast + 2 tickets to the theme park, but we were told at the front desk that the ticket is not included if you check in on weekends. Apparently, the packages that we paid said so. I tried to talk to the duty manager but she told me similar explanation. We end up of buying the tickets anyway. I'm not too keen about the money but more particular on the honesty of the packages that they are offering...

I wasn't holding up much hope for this hotel before we arrived; I was truly surprised. It was much better than expected.

We stayed during the Canton Fair this year and it was great.

Staff were wonderful, facilities very good and room very comfortable.

Ability to register for fair at hotel a big plus, not to mention the free shuttle to and from both venues for fair and free shuttle to and from train station upon arrival (as long as they know when you are arriving they'll meet you).

facilities are great - good massage, gym, pool tables, restaurant; even a bowling alley!
