“tomb raiding...”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

You kinda feel your Lara Croft as you descent down the underground tomb of the king and his mistress. The exhibits are pretty interesting and had informative labels. There's is also an audio visual section explaining the burial tradition used on the Nanyue King so you will connect that will all the artifacts displayed in the museum.

Reviewed 5 August 2014

Well set up. Nicely constructed. Good display of artifacts. Most parts are air conditioned, a necessity for summer visitors.

“Excellent, informative museum”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

This museum is really interesting, well-presented and informative. It's focus is a tomb of a King of the area around Guangzhou, who lived over 2000 years ago. The tomb was found in the 1980s, and all the objects found in the tomb have been carefully displayed with informative plaques in Chinese and English. These include jade jewellery, cooking pots, musical instruments, original seals and the jade suit (this is really cool - jade was meant to preserve). You can also go into the tomb itself, which is really cool, although there is nothing there now. It was fairly crowded, but not overbearingly so. It was very cheap - 120RMB (50RMB for students). The audio guide was not particularly worth it as the displays were so good, but did only cost 10RMB. I'd recommend about 2-3 hours, though it is a fairly large exhibition. Overall, this was a great museum, totally worth the money, and worth seeing if you're interested in ancient China.
