This a typical Chinese 4 Star with spacious rooms and helpful service. Decor as always is "intersting" but lacks a good bar. I am not in love with the location but if you have suppliers close by its fine. There is an international coffee house downstairs which serves a good standard of western food if you have had your fill of the local cuisine. 5 minute cab ride to the local shopping district which has a good array or restaurants but if you want a bar its KTV exclusively unfortunately.

Good experience and for Panyu which lacks global hotel chains, this is a good option. Rooms have solid amenities and were designed 5-7 years ago. Breakfast is a medium Chinese standard. Hotel car service was efficient and reasonable. Conference facilities good and nice bar area off lobby for business meetings. Centrally located.

beautiful hotel, better than good service and great people.
Located off Panyu Square, with the local government building to the north and the Bank of China building directly across the square and the number 3 line right there for a direct trip to Gaungzhou City and the Airport (30 minutes and 1 hour respectively).
Panyu Square itself is like a Venice Beach scene away from the beach. Nightly, locals gather and engage in all sorts of activity from just walking to martial arts schools hanging out, old ladies practicing Tai Chi and roller blade classes for the kids. Since it is not illegal to drink in public cruising with a beer at night is a great way to relax after meetings all day.

As for the Hotel itself, the rooms are comfortable, all the usual amenities and some perks as well if your trip lasts past 7 and 15 days, including a great laundry allowance that got all my stuff washed for free on the 8th day.
The Buffet restaurant offered one of the best buffet breakfasts (included with the room) I've had in China. and the help all have enough English to make me feel comfortable.

A short walk from the Hotel are many restaurants worth trying and lots of stores if you missed something when you packed. (Large people beware, we aren't a size easy to shop for in China, no matter where you stay). It first appears you are isolated, but a left or right turn and a couple of blocks away everything changes.

I stayed here three or four years ago and since then , my Chinese suppliers had always booked the Panyu hotel for me on my frequent visits ,which is ok , has a Starbucks on site , but otherwise is pretty domestic and bland . Last week when visiting again , I asked if they could book me in the Royal, as I'd remembered it was good .. And it didn't disappoint ..the Patten cafe bar is great , has an atrium style feel, western choices and comfy seating .. The rooms are large and clean , the hotel feels secure and welcoming to th traveller ..now I remember how good it is it will become my default hotel automatically when in Panyu .
Very highly recommended as a business hotel .

Third year at this hotel. One of the best in the Pan Yu area. Only problem is getting a non-smoking room. You can ask for it, remind them about it, insist on it and still find none available when you check in unless you go to the room and then refuse it...a pain. Bed is very firm.

Room Tip: Insist on non-smoking firmly

Great hotel with excellent amenities and nicely done rooms. The hotel is a little distance away from the Panyu city, and there is nothing much around the hotel to do. So if you are going there for business (sleep & shower!) its good, but if you are looking to spend some time walking the streets or shopping, then this is far from those areas.

There are decent restaurants in the hotel with good food options. I recommend this for short stays. Jet Privilege member 120295254
