This hotel is close to a client so I thought I would try it out, primarily because the room rates are about a third of the usual big chains. I was only staying for one night so had no real expectations other than low price and basic standards. This turned out to be better than most 3 star hotel's in China. First it was quite clean and had fairly modern design in the rooms. The WiFi was free, which nowadays is a real plus. The bed was classic China, hard as a rock, but I seemed to sleep well, despite the tendency of locals to feel hotel passageways are speaking platforms for raucous kids. Nice shower facilities and even a few English language channels. Language is an issue. I have fairly basic Cantonese so I could get by, but this could be an issue. What was nice was the sheer friendliness of the hotel staff when a "gwai loh" (foreigner) walked in. All very pleasant and helpful. There are good restaurants here but you would need a local to guide you. Guangzhou is dim-sum-ville so if you are there make sure you fit this into your morning breakfast plans.
