“Charming and quirky resort hotel”
Reviewed 7 February 2014

This is a European style resort hotel. Consequently it is a quirky mix of what Chinese people might believe a European resort is like and Chinese culture.
Because it is not a business hotel the reception staff do not speak English and the business facilites are limited and expensive. As a European visitor I enjoyed the strange mix of cultures. As a business visitor i found it difficult to arrange meetings and communicate with the outside world..
There are signs everywhere saying that photos are forbidden, but no-one seemed to be taking any notice. There are several restaurants with lots of European fusion choices. Breakfast was a standard buffet mix of Chinese and European foods.
I enjoyed the stay: the room was very comfortable and the staff were very obliging.
The river runs beside the resort so remember your mosquito repellent at night!

Hotel staff are nice and friendly.
We went for swimming there is a pool with fish that bite you dead skin.
Hotel provide free shuttle to airport which is quiet convenient.
Also there is free bus run between hotel and Dragon lake. It is a pity that the day we go was too windy so we can't raw a boat.

We picked the hotel as we were there for a golf outing. A truly unique European style hotel with lots of amenities ranging from restaurants, retail, Karaoke and drinking places. I tried the Spa and the experience was outstanding and not expensive. There was a wide variety of treatment packages and they were well explained to the clients before you begin. Breakfast could be options of either local Chinese or Italian. We had Italian breakfast and it did not disappoint, as breakfast spread was extremely generous. The rooms were spacious, Wifi connection was good, the rain showers were strong and the bed was firm. The overall service by the reception and the concierge were excellent and staff were helpful with recommendations and directions to local restaurants outside the hotel. We even were granted early check-in for 2 separate rooms. As the resort is well spread out, hotel offered us a buggy to transport our luggage from the main lobby to the rooms.

This was the second time I had stayed at this hotel. The first time was in 2010 when the hotel was still under construction. The room I stayed in this time was very nice and spacious. Like many hotels in China, the room is smoking and there is a smell of smoke in the whole hotel. The bed is pretty hard--also typical for China in my experience. I could not get the free wi-fi to work with my laptop. The breakfast was quite good and very busy every morning. There is a lot of variety, including European items and Chinese food. I was traveling with Chinese colleagues and as we were touring the hotel and I was taking photos, the staff told my friend several times that I was not allowed to take photos, but he did not tell me until afterward. We were also asked to stop taking photos when we toured the King Hotel and golf course that is under construction. I don't think it's very tourist friendly to forbid taking photos of the hotel grounds.
