The view from the temple atop the Solitary Beauty karst is spectacularly breathtaking - but be warned: The climb is not for the faint-of-heart! It's not a cheap view, either (entrance fee to the "city" is 75 RMB). All the exhibits and plaques are in Mandarin Chinese, so history buffs won't get much out of it. However, it was nice and empty when I went, as all the students were on winter vacation; a nice change of pace from nearby Zhongshan Zhonglu (Guilin's main street).
