“Afternoon Tea Deal Tip”
Reviewed 21 October 2013

We were two couples, and had found lots of coffee places in Guilin were so so or used sticky condensed milk, yuk! Also everyone was smoking. Here was really a breath of fresh air! It was perfect, we had the afternoon tea which was American coffee and a brown or cheese cake which were both homemade and lovely. The 100 percent no smoking and calm atmosphere and best terrace in the city (except the roof top one on the Sheraton, which is actually a restaurant) is ace. Free WiFi, nice seats, and lovely Alice served us. Go here to unwind in calm with a book for afternoon tea without clouds of smoke. Maybe don't bother for dinner, not a lot of choice. Please thumb up if this advice was helpful! :) thank you.

“100% Non Smoking - Wonderful”
Reviewed 10 June 2013

Sick of having inconsiderate people blowing their cancerous smoke over your food while trying to eat, so it was a breath of fresh air to find Cae Nissi and its no smoking policy. Sadly, it was on our last day in Guilin. Only had coffee, but the owner and staff were friendly and chatty

“Lovely calm atmosphere and friendly service”
Reviewed 25 April 2013

Excellent style and service as a cafe, but we were disappointed that they only offered a very limited range of more substantial meals. Anyway, the staff were charming and the seating comfortable.
We note others' comments about the cafe's 'themed' periods - I can only assume they are now in a Leonard Cohen phase, because we got his Greatest Hits throughout the early evening! This suited me just fine, but my wife was threatening to rush out screaming after a while...

“New location, new atmosphere”
Reviewed 10 February 2013

It's quite a surprise to find out Nissi Cafe has moved to a new place, and it's been changed to Nissi Station. The cafe is a bit bigger, and the atmosphere is quite different. When I came in December, they had Christmas atmosphere; and when I came two weeks ago, they had Chinese New Year decoration. It's nice and warm. The owners and the staff are very helpful.

It's a good place for spending time alone or with friends. They now have a second floor where they've had some rooms which you can have privacy talking with friends.

Regarding food, their homemade bread is one of my favourites.

Another reason I like it here is that it's smoke-free!!! (They've set up some tables outdoors for smokers.) Unlike many countries, people smoke in most restaurants and cafes in China, so it's so good to find one some-free cafe.

“Burger was ok, fried rice poor !!!”
Reviewed 20 July 2012

Popped in on a very hot lunchtime.
Had a chicken and bacon burger which come with chips. The burger was good but nothing special.
What surprised us was how bad the fried rice with BBQ port was. Made with what looked like short grain - risotto rice it was mushy and flavor-less.
A pretty spot to sit and maybe just have a beer but surely there has to be better food around elsewhere.
