There are two Amani's in Guilin and both are really great places to hang out and enjoy a quiet cold beer. One is by the river and the other is right in the middle of walking street. I have been to both several times and have yet to have a serious complaint or reason to whinge.

Amani isn't a place for fine dining - they are casual meeting places where relaxation and enjoyment are the order of the day. The service is cafe style and while some of the trainees might be a bit slow it doesn't really matter because they are so relaxed. Food is great for a cafe - nothing spectacular but the sort of things that go well with a cold beer.

The walking street Amani often has a singer/music in the evening and its really pleasant just sitting there watching the Guilin tourist trade passing by.

If there was one thing worth commenting negatively on it would be the nearby shops blaring our with advertising - but that's not in the control of the Amani people and after the shops shut the noise abates

Great service, ice cold beers served in a nice cold glass, food range of thin crust pizzas and perfect position for watching the world walk by. Would gladly eat here again

Located at the intersection of pedestrian streets, offers a good variety of Pizzas. We really liked the thin crust pizzas and garlic bread. Desserts are outsourced from a a nearby bakery - the Tiramisu was very good.

This was nice little cafe off the front river walk. Popped in for some pizza for lunch.

Pizza Tonno was very tasty. However there were two people eating so we were little surprised to receive the first pizza 1/2 hour after ordering and second person had to wait another 1/2 hour for theirs.

Quite ironically I was playing patience on my iPhone when the Take That song Have a little patience came on the Radio, so the omens were all present.

Having said that, the two staff were really pleasant and when the food came it was good. To be fair I also enjoyed my enforced sit down since I'd been walking non stop for hours. I would recommend just don't go if your in a hurry or choose something off the menu that won't take so long.

Nice little spot by the river just a few hundred feet from the Sheraton. Nice pizza, though pretty slow and came one at a time. We were the only people in the restaurant, and my pizza took about 25 minutes and my friend's pizza came a further 30 minutes later. Don't come if you're in a rush. But if you're happy to chill and watch the world (& the river) go by, it's fine.
