“Mystical hills/mountains shrouded in romance”

Li River Cuisine Restaurant
Ranked #8 of 314 Restaurants in Guilin
Description: Opposite the Waterfall hotel beside the lake. Formerly named Congee City. More rustic than slick but the food's ok and the nplace is open 'til late, which is unusual especially in this part of Guilin. It'sa useful address, I think. DW

The unusual beauty of the landscape was mesmerizing. The Yangtze River is so masculine and rugged but this river is the opposite.

The views from the boats cruising down the Li river are amazing. Very much like Ha long bay in Vietnam ( not far in distance away). Half the top level on the boat we were on was "bought" by a group of wealthy Chinese who had the crew bring there tables and chairs on deck - which caused all sorts of dramas for all to see as they blocked off the front of the boat. The food was very average and scarce but if you want the river cruise you will have to put up with it.

The beauty of the river and the insight to the fishing villages were remarkable. We loved the views of the mountains.

This is a great way to see the countryside, mountains, and river. The scenery is absolutely stunning and you will even get to see the inspiration for the 20RMB note. The lunch buffet is lacking so pack it on at breakfast. They will offer you drinks, souvenirs, etc. but will not pressure you into buying anything. It’s pretty crowded with 100 people per boat and 7-10 boats on the water but with some good camera skills, you will be able to get plenty of great pics.

Easy way to get from Gwaylin to Yansho. The food was a little so so, but amazing they cook so many different dishes and provided a buffett with an open kitchen on the back of the boat.
