I'm sure there are worse hotels than this in Guilin, but there will certainly be better ones.

For me everything simply fits into the OK category. For example, the hotel is quite dated, but it is clean; there is a reasonable choice for breakfast but it is not the best quality etc.

The Park Hotel, while nestling adjacent to the Li river which is fabulously lit up at night, is a typically dated hotel in desperate need of modernisation. It also seems to have a clientele who use local "night time friends" as the bedrooms have very precise instructions for people visiting rooms at night, warnings about AIDS and the free provision of condoms.
Breakfast is poor, with a big focus on Chinese rather than pan-world food. Staff are typically Chinese, un-smiling and only focused on very narrow employment disciplines.
Rooms are old fashioned and door closures in corridors are noisy so you hear everyone coming and going.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else in Guilin

Quietly located in a park, yet close to the main street, shops and restaurants. The hotel is nice with friendly staff, although English is a difficult language for them. The rooms are large with a great bathroom. The beds are not as hard as in some Chinese hotels. Due to early departure we did not have breakfast. The only minus point is the high price for airport transport - 150 Rmb.
Will certainly stay here again...

Room Tip: In general all rooms are OK, due to its quiet location.

Reception is a bit dated, and the food in the restaurant seemed pretty questionable (didn't look "fresh"). Beds were quite hard, but not uncomfortable, and the rooms themselves were pretty good. Location wise it was ok, and it's pretty easy (and seriously cheap) to get a taxi to other parts of town. Staff were helpful and had pretty good English which made the experience much easier.

After the bustle and noise of other hotels and cities it was great to stay here amid the relative calm and tranquility of this part of Guilin.

A nice hotel, with good rooms, very clean. Wifi in our room. Nice bathroom with an unusual window out onto the bedroom itself.

The only downside was the restaurant which was very busy at breakfast time, felt that the hotel did not have the same numbers of staff we had seen everywhere else on our trip and so the breakfast here was the least impressive of all.

The location is great, nice waterside walks in the immediate area. A flat and easy walk into the main shopping area of the city as well, this surprisingly busy area did not affect the hotel at all.

The hotel was very popular with local families for weddings and this did mean that you felt a little marginalised in the public rooms, but that aside I would stay here again.

The bar prices were reasonable by Chinese hotel standards, 25 yuan for a bottle of ice cold Tsing Tao.
