We booked our trip to Guilin through a travel agent in Shangahi only the day before we left. The hotel we wanted was not available on such short notice, so we stayed at this hotel and knew by the very reasonable price of the trip that it wouldn't be luxurious. We did not find it to be especially clean, and the included breakfast was marginal. The location is also not the best. I will stay somewhere else on my next trip to Guilin.

Nice hotel in Guilin, though not in the central city or on the river. Booked into the hotel though a China Focus tour. Very nce room, usual amenities, drab bathroom, limited tv. Ok breakfast included with tour. Close to a large shopping mall--fascinating modern local grocery store. Within walking distance (15 minutes) of Seven Star Park which is beautiful. Did not use, but in room internet was 30/yuan.

Please, don't use this hotel or lower your expectations a lot. The rooms were moldy, our a/c didn't work and the food was terrible. Fortunately we were only there for one night!

We stayed at Guilin Plaza Hotel with a tour group in October. The hotel is about average, no serious complaint about it because we knew what price we paid for this trip. What we don't like was its location - it's far away from the major scenic sites and city center; No views at all, the surrounding area is less organized and nothing to say nearby. The hotel was a bit old. We tried to change to a better room with clearner carpet, but we were told only three floors were relatively new but were usually reserved for individual travelers who pay higher pirce than tour groups do. There are many hotels in Guilin, and it's such a beautiful place to wonder around on your own. Don't stay in Guilin Plaza.

I spent a night here becuase the Sheraton was full.
I can say that this hotel failed in every detail.
The funny thing is that when I drove up I was thinking that perhaps this was going to be a pleasant experience. I walked in with a conscious will to accept that Chinese run hotels can be OK. From a certain distance everything looks quite impressive. but after a about 1 hour on the property one realises that it is all like a dolls house, pretty to look at but doesn't really do the job.
Check in and out takes ages. like they are doing it for the first time.
Room - dirty carpet, curtains don't close, power point doesn't work, no power point in bathroom.
bar - not open in the evening.
Breakfast- no buffet service, only a la carte which takes too long.
health club - machines not fully functioning.
Regretably, The girls trying to entice you for massage, seem to be the only ones who understand about business.
