This hotel claims to be "green" but allows smoking in the lobby! Yuck! However the rooms were nice enough, very clean, pleasantly decorated, and not dated at all! The beds are very firm, but we like them that way so it was not a problem. Breakfast was decent, better than some of our other hotels on this trip. But beware, another hotel guest dropped and broke a bowl on the floor and the hostess immediately demanded payment for it!

When I walked into the gaudy smelly lobby I knew right away this was a poor choice... they only proved my instincts were right over the next two nights I stayed at the Empark.
The breakfast was disgusting. Items that are supposed to be hot were room temperature and items that should be chilled were warm. They managed to mess up boiled eggs (undercooked). The entire hotel, from the rooms, lobby, to the dining room were not as cleanly as I expected.
While at the Sheraton in Beijing the concierge would loan out umbrellas, the Empark wanted a $100 yuan deposit... for a cheap umbrella that didn't even have a tie to hold it together when closed.
One morning, I waited for 5 minutes at the front desk while two women working the counter shuffled around paper without addressing me... any good hotel would have trained their staff to say, "I'll be with you in a moment," smile and hold out a finger to gesture "one minute," or some variation thereof.
I do not recommend staying at the Empark!

Room have musty smell, they're outdated and definitely need some refurbishment. Rooms though are spacious but no wifi. The only plus is there is an ATM in the hotel lobby--very handy when you are short of local currency. Breakfast was just average.

A fine 5 star hotel that was perfect for our purposes as we toured Xi’an, the location of the massive terra cotta warrior army created by the Emperor Qin Shi Huang of the Qin Dynasty to protect him in the afterlife. After all, what’s not to like about a clean, modern hotel with an excellent view of a tree lined boulevard?

Well laid out, spacious and well decorated rooms with fine hard beds gave us a very comfortable night’s rest. We were also impressed by the excellent service of the hotel staff, a number of whom spoke English well.

Free wifi was available in the lobby, but we were usually too exhausted after each day’s touring activities and sightseeing that we never made use of it. Some travelers may have expected a pool for a hotel in this category but we did not miss having it at our disposal. Excellent shower and tub facilities were sufficient.

We opted for the western style morning buffet breakfast and it suited our requirements perfectly.

Definitely a 5-star hotel. The rooms are modern and extremely spacious although the bathroom is a little small for a hotel of this category. The view was spectacular as the hotel is located on a tree-lined avenue.

For me the only thing that was not 5-star was the bed...it was a little too hard for my liking.

We had free wifi in the room as well as lobby.

The buffet breakfast was good with western and Chinese foods.

We enjoyed having the option of opening the windows.

Everything about this hotel will please you. Great value for the money. The rooms are clean, modern and spacious. The hotel staff are attentive to details and very helpful. The hotel is near enough to downtown and on the east of the city, only a one hour drive to the Warriors and Hua Qing Shi Bathhouse Park. I give it 6 stars.

I was pretty disappointed with this hotel. In theory, it should be a great hotel especially for the price - the rooms are clean and spacious. The location isn't bad, although a bit out of the city centre.

However, I came here on a work-related trip and had a few mishaps that were enough to never want to return to this hotel. For one, the internet cord I was given in my room was broken and took half an hour to replace. The elevators stopped at almost every single floor (I was on the 26th floor) to let more and more business men into the elevator - many smoking cigarettes the entire ride up/down. The morning we left the hotel, the lights in my room stopped working and since I was in a rush, had to shower in a dark bathroom. Then when we were checking out, there were so many other people checking out at the same time (and only one receptionist dealing with check-outs), that it took us over 30 minutes to get our invoice (which we needed since it was a work-related trip), making us late for our next appointment.

If I had been on a leisurely vacation, probably wouldn't have minded, especially since the price is so good (about 60 USD a night) but as a business hotel, would not rate it more than 3 stars and will definitely go somewhere else next time.
