“Xi'an's Arc de Triomphe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2012

Not only the dawn-rung bell to stand in front of for a photo, but views down Xi'an's hazy avenues, and you may catch a short performance of traditional music.

“Come at night for the best experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2012

The two towers are about 250 metres apart and the drum tower is the start of the Muslim Street walk. Both the towers are impressive and look ethereal when lit up at night. The views from above the towers are impressive and the Bell tower is circled by cars in an incessant stream which is quite captivating. the area between these two monuments is a park which is a nice place to spend an idle hour.
At night the place even more attractive as the crowds of people, the lights, stalls selling everything from food to souveners and the tourists all combine to make it a wonderful place to be

“Must have worked well!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2012

This is a well maintained bell tower that protected the city over hundreds of years. Great view of surrounding area, albeit impacted by horrific air pollution from factories. Chinese engineering in ancient times was remarkable.

“Nite Stroll is great after a hot day of site seeing!”

Take your time and walk around these towers...We loved seeing the locals parading their beloved pet dogs like trophies.

“Pretty”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2012

The bell tower is in the middle of a very busy roundabout in the centre of Xi'an so to get access to it you need to walk through a series of interconnecting subway tunnels. The bell tower is pretty and is a nice structure but the best thing about it is the view of the traffic that you get from there. You can climb up to the top level and get an even better view. The drum tower which we didn't view is only a very short distance away. There is a display of pottery on the upper level but the descriptions are all in Chinese so I have no idea what they were or how old or if they were significant in any way. They are pretty though.
