“Nice show, but...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014

Its a nice show, but out of the way unless you are staying in the area, big crowds makes it hard to watch with small children.
If you have kids go during the day, the fountains are going as well but not with music, your kids will still like it.

“Interesting water show...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 June 2014 via mobile

Pagoda and the surrounding gardens are lovely. But the water show isn't nearly as beautiful as everyone makes it out to be,and probably not worth going out of your way for. Also if it's bucketing it down like it was when me and my friend went, save yourself the hassle and don't go

“masses of people and cheap crap”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2014

I walked here as I stayed at the Westin (beside the pagoda). the water show did not start on time, the crowd is big and actual real sights are little! you get a nice look on the pagoda at night,... but many private people find it necessary to put laser lights on the pagoda,.... which shows no respect for the religion and the culture! there are tons of really cheap stores that sell rubbish! I am not a fan of this sight!

“Nice area to stroll in the evening”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

Firsta a clarification tha make TripAdvisor users confused (me included). So my own understanding, hope is right: This is the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and the large square complex right in front of it. I don´t think is another Pagoda the Dayan one.
So please read my review on the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
But the square itself is nothing in particular, but is really a very nice place to walk around, particulalry in the evening, to relax a bit for your full day of attractions in the city.
Lots of people come for an evening entertainment here. People dancing allover, exercising, playing badmington, lineskating and having fun with friends. So nice to go, I wouldn´t miss.
And the so famous dancing watres in the big pool is beautiful, even being really tough to see, so many people. Is beatiful, classical songs changing every few minutes. Most beautiful is the Pagoda lightened right behind.
And lots of retauantes, cafes and shops in around the square and the street in front of it.
Worth going.
