Owner description: Dating back to the Ming period, this mosque features inner courtyards that bear more of a resemblance to a Chinese temple.

Our time through the Muslim quarter was excellent. So interesting to see the united cultures, food markets, mosques etc. This was one of our favorite side trips. Betty from China odyssey was our guide and was excellent. If you are in Xi'an ask for Betty

Very ancient and in need of a lot of repairs soon. Not very informative to walk around it. Has a lot of potential yet needs lots of $$$ and a story line to tell its history clearly.

Famous for large, dry dates. Lots of local delicacies and souvenirs for sale. I bought dry persimmons - quite popular products here.

You actually are in the middle of the city, where all the noise markets and busy streets are, but all of a sudden you enter in this peaceful garden with amazing architecture and here just nothing. I worth it to see how this two cultures mixed during the years of the silk commerce. Islam and Chinese signs can be seen only here, there is no other Mosque like this. Its really worth it, and go early in the morning, like 8 am to enjoy even more the peaceful time.

Friday during Ramadan and the mosque is very lively with men coming to pray. Not allowed to enter the main prayer hall - understandably, but still very interesting. Cool courtyards made a nice change.
