The best thing about the hotel is the location. The reception staff were helpful, the rooms were very clean, they provide toothbrush, shampoos, etc daily. The beds are hard as rocks!!! Be careful. Every day we were sore. They have a magnifying mirror for make-up, but it is not very powerful.
However, the location is perfect! 15 min walk, or 20 CYN rickshaw ride to the Drum Tower, and the Muslim Street with all the action and shopping. One block or so away is a mall that is open late, with a Walmart inside. Tons of shops inside, for bargaining.
Close to the City Wall and other activities.
The breakfast was ok, enough Eastern and Western food. They need to keep it a little warmer though, which is a problem I noticed in all of China.
I would stay here again, as it was clean and nice, but would ask about extra foam or blankets under the sheets as the beds really are hard.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back, on the right side you see wires. We asked to change our room.

Impressive hotel on entering the lobby, friendly reception staff and very helpful, great room very clean and good bathroom with tub and separate shower, breakfast was the best we had in China with everything you could eat from the west and the east, again friendly staff.
Bar staff very good and prices reasonable, location great and if you love walking nothing is to far away, the city feel very safe and we walked lots.

Room Tip: Ask for non smoking floor (seventh) and high floor

Clean but garishly decorated, like a Las Vegas motel. Feels like the last major update was in the 1970s. Mattress was also rock hard -- comically so --and the gym facilities were meager (think old treadmills in a dark, dank, carpeted room)

I'm not sure who is dolling out five star certifications these days, but I for one was definitely not impressed.

We stayed in this hotel from 25th to 27th Oct 2012. Its about 15mins walk to the Bell Tower. Our room is spacious and clean, the bathroom is even better, classy and modern. The amenities and toiletries are of good quality. We dined in their in house coffee place restaurant which served delicious and presentable chinese and western food. All in all, this is great hotel in a good location within the city wall and I would definitely return again.

I was debating whether to pick Hotel Sofitel Xian which is rated 5 stars, but the price and location made me pick Grand Noble hotel. Once I checked in, it immediately gave the impression that this is not like the other 4 stars hotels in China, this is way better. It's classy, it's clean, and it's location is very convenience, especially for me going on a solo exploring tour. Right in front of the hotel there are bus stops, the 611 bus can take you to the Xian railway station where you can get to other tour buses that take you to other extractions like the terracotta warriors museum. I highly recommend this hotel.
