If you have some free time, here is recommended. It has many stone tablets, which record many Chinese historic figures. Many of them were well known.
There are so many of stone tablets, you will feel tired soon.

If you are in Xi'an for a few days, the Steles are worth going to see. The Museum is peaceful and outdoors, the Steles are unique and there are some good local restaurants across the street for lunch. George at Xian Tour Booking can help you see this and some other interesting sites.

The entry to the former Confucian Temple costs an appalling 75 yuan (12,5 USD). Despite the fact that half the territory was walled off for renovations in November 2013 no discounts were offered. Students get a reduced price only if they study in China. This is another example of the wrong-headed municipal policy of making visitors pay through their nose. A couple that wishes to visit the Forest of Steles and then climb the city wall (nearby) will have to part with almost fifty bucks.

A must see if you love history. Do not go without a knowledgable guide. A flash light is useful, and a book of explanations in your language. Go earlier in the day so lighting is better. Garden is beautiful for pictures.
