“Fun activity to do”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

They did a great job of renovating this wall. A fun trip (about 12 km) with nice views of the city.
Make sure you verify the bike saddle height. I am 1.8m high and couldn't get the saddle to stay at a reasonable position.

“Pleasant Surprise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 November 2013

We went to Xi'an to visit the famous Terracotta Warriors but were impressed by the City Wall and its history, You can walk, bike or take a golf cart around the wall which has been impressively restored. The lights of the Wall and the Bell Tower at night are a must see.

“Amazing, best at sunset or early evening !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 November 2013

Entrance fee for 54 rmb, I arrived there around 4:30pm, just perfect for the sunset. You will take beautiful photos for sure around this time. I wanted to rent a bike to ride around like many others but the line up was too long. I decided to walk instead from the South Gate to the North Gate, a good 3/4 hours of slow walk if you wanna enjoy the view and take nice photos. Unforgettable moments! I highly recommend it, so special!

“One of the best preserved city walls from at least”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 November 2013

If you enjoy looking at older than medieval walls, then this rammed earth wall at least more than 600 years with a filled in moat covered with wide streets is the one for you. You can bike on top of the wall for miles. Watching the kamikaze type driving by Xian drivers below from the top of the wall was so entertaining. No accidents, but they sure do not follow normal traffic rules like in the West.

“Overpriced”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 November 2013

There is a tendency in Xi'an to put a hefty price tag on the city's historic attractions. An access to the wall (from the southern entrance near the former Confucian Temple) was 54 yuan (9 USD)! Appalling. There were absolutely no tourists lining up to get there either. Instead of pricing visitors out they should think of attracting them.
